Webcomics got complaints from fans?

Yeah, we got back to him. Never heard from him again. We're hoping that means he realized he was wrong.
You're just jealous because you can't get away with speaking in the third person...

Except for ours, apparently. Back in December we got the only complaint we've ever received
Yeah, MM, your comic is SUPER offensive, and I'm serious. Oh. My. God. But it's kind of that high school, it's okay because it's among friends offensive. It's definitely the cheesy jokes that do it, i mean come on, Exotic Fruit? It's not the concept itself.

I do so love the comic though... sigh... you're like eminem man.

That's cool. For the record, I find your comic hilarious. You two remind me of two lady friends of mine who are also in a relationship and also fans of yaoi. I should point them towards it, though I'm not sure what they'd think of the art.

I'm a little apprehensive that one day I'm going to start getting hate mail from someone in the gay community because of Queerboy, but maybe if I point out the fact that the main character is called "Ugly Girl" they'll go easy on me. I tend to run things by my RL 'queerboy' (he does not object to this title) just to be on the safe side, though. He seems OK with it so far.

I like your comic. But how come it doesn't have that much mansex? You even had a guy who is named Queerboy. Plz for the manxes. I mean not cats, mansex. Thanks and if I draw fanart, would like it if I draw her pretty or ugly? Okay thanks.

I think I'm going to get letters for the August 14th strip when it comes out. Basically, that strip is about how corrupt Christianity is.

I think the only complaint I really got was this post I found on the tagboard one day... "God, how can you people read this garbage"

Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside...

No comments whatsoever, only feedback in the comic pitching forum.

Perhaps I should add a tagboard. Or remove the <nospam> from my email address.

Well, any webcartoonists got in a similar situation?

So far for me, I got a complaint from one reader who said I was unfair for making fun of "Garfield".
I got some negative feedback for my September 11th page.

Sometimes I wish I got some complaints. Then I would know that my comic was popular enough that it at least registered on someone's radar. But then again, it is nice to know that I do make the few people that do read it happy.

That is unless I miss an update.

I get people who are like, "You know that according to D&D rule #3762834.a that dwarves can't use their battleaxes to cut down trees," or "You know that such-and-such abstract D&D rule says if Xylic managed to steal from a dragon the dragon then loses such-and-such many levels."

... and I'm like no, I don't know that because I know nothing about D&D! Unfortunately I've discovered that every fantasy comic gets compared to D&D and is assumed to play by those rules by a lot of people.

Any other fantasy comic writers get this jive?

I got complaints from Japanese readers about my art and story. I got complaints from a few Americans for my poor English. And I got complaints for making my B&W comic into color (my coloring wasn't great and they prefer the comic to be in B&W instead).

Ah, so sad and hard to be a good comic artist...

I've had 'female drow are the dominant ones and the guys dont do anything so why is he away from the kitchen sink flah flah flah lolth spider god of drow flah flah.'

Yes, heavily D&D based. No, not gonna follow every aspect of the standard D&D world, as I dont like every aspect of it. I won't conduct battles in initiative order, and I don't care about the Beholder's central eye being antimagic. I do whatever fits the story best, not what fits the rules, or it's be actually really quite terrible.

Also, all of you shut up about Drizzt, I didn't have a clue about him before I wrote my character, and I really don't care now.

I've only heard one complaint so far, which was told to me in a chatroom some many one year and a few months ago. The guy (who was some programming dork, gaming freak and anime nerd) read one of the chapters titled "anna" (I only had about 50 pages in my archive back then) and then immediately told me the story is really boring, and that the characters have been riding a car for way too many pages XD

...and then when I stopped updating that comic, he then continued to laugh at me, saying the characters are stuck in the car with crappy music.
:'D hahaha.

Well, feedback is feedback..

The best I've ever managed is people telling me my strip's too meandering and cryptic.

There is no sex in the Ugly Girl universe, man or otherwise.
