Hello, Space Cadets!
I wasn't sure where to post this, so I'm putting it here. I added a new feature to the automatic updating scripts today. You can now have "Ghosted" navigation buttons. That means whenever a navigation button (eg: ***next_day*** doesn't lead anywhere (eg: the "Next Day" button on the last comic), you have the option of the ***tag*** returning nothing (the current implementation), or now you can have it return an unlinked image, instead.
As an example, look at the buttons on my first comic page. Notice that the first two are ghosted and unlinked.
To use this new feature, all you have to do is make new images and put "_ghosted" on the end of them, like first_day_ghosted.gif, next_day_ghosted.gif, etc...
I'd appreciate it if one of you could pass this information along to the Keenspace egroups list. Thanks.

That is a pretty cool feature. You should start working on a randomized Newsbox list next. People can have their newsbox in a directory on their server(like the Spot strips) and the tag can pull a random newsbox from one of the comics. Since it's randomized, anyone can get exposure. Using this, readership for comic strips could go up by 150%, depending on the quality of it, of course.

Yet another idea...
Something along the same lines as the Newsbox: just a little button that says "Random Keenspace Comic" that people can click on to read... a Random Keenspace Comic! I'd use it all the time, myself...
------------------

Absolutely. I find new keenspace comics daily that I become addicted to. I try to limit myself a bit though. Don't want to overdue it!

Okay, here's how you do the Secret Keenspace Cult Handshake: grab the other person's left thumb with your left thumb, twist it around until both thumbs are pointing down, and then get out a butcher knife and slit your throat.
------------------

Rick:
Now don't let's be silly. Ham is a weed, not a flower. Though it MAY be the missing evolutionary link between birds and dinosaurs... Velociraptor==>Archaeopteryx==>Ham==>Pelican
I think it works.
