Hmm, let's see so far...

12x18" Sketch book: ~$10
Scanner (bought it specifically for comicking): $120
Tablet: (again, specifically for comicking, at least initially): $140
Painter 8 (specifically for inking comic): $220

So the total is about $500. But, then again, I use my scanner, tablet and software for more than just making comics, but they were all bought initially for that purpose.

Um... hmm.... the scanner was a gift from the best little brother ever.... the sketchbook Michelle used to use was a gift from Maria, but now she uses computer paper ('cause the sketchbook fell apart >_____<;; )... uhh.... the pens were stolen from Yeon.... the pencils are from school supplies.... the eraser was about 50 cents......

...So.... 50 cents...

50 sheet 12x9 tablets of watercolor paper - $8, lasts me about 10 comics.
India ink and nib pens - $10, I have yet to replace them
Derwent pencils HB and 8B - $5, Lasts about 20-25 comics
Squishy eraser - $2, dang I love that thing.
Kolinsky brushes sized 1/4" & 1/2" flat, 0, 2, 3, and 8 - $45 , seem to be in good shape so far.
Microns sized .05, 1, 2, 3, 5, and 8 - $16, 1 or 2 need replaced every 10 comics.

So, I dunno. Maybe $100? Not much investment for the rewards, I say.

Approximately 205 Sheets of Paper for Pages So Far: $0 (Suck on that, Rutgers! You deny me parking, I steal paper! DIEEEEEE!)

Two Pigma Microns: $0 (Birthday presents! I got an X-Acto knife too, but that was confiscated...)

Ruler: $0 (Yeah, this was stolen too. But in my defense, she was asking for it.)

Mechanical Pencil(s): $1.99 (I have the one... but some girl in class asked to borrow its twin and didn't return it. But in her defense, she's hot.)

Tachikawa Manga Pen(s): $2.50x2 (Ohhhh soo good.)

Tachikawa Manga Pen Refils: $2.00 (Sooo good.)

Paper Towels For the Mess from Tachikawa Manga Pen and Subsequent Tantrum: $0 (Once again, Rutgers pays.)

150 Sheets Cardstock: $8.00 (Great dance partners with above pen)

Weight of Books placed on 150 Sheets of Cardstock because rain got into my bookbag and bumpified all my sheets: 110 lbs (Mmm. Textbooks)

Comment from a fan who shall remain nameless "OMG your boobs rock": Priceless

p.s. Not my boobs.

My comic has cost exactly $50 which was the fee to be in the Keenspace sampler 2004. My strip is wholly digital so I don't pay anything there.

I'm sorta slightly considering getting a domain considering how cheap it is, but I'm still slightly hesitant.

I also did phbites.comicgenesis.com and hntrac.comicgenesis.com way back when.

I was going to register VileTerror.com when I heard VT wanted to use it eventually. I'm so evil.

TIME: 1 hour per comic x 3 comics per week x 52 weeks per year = 156 comic hours at $20/hour (what I could make if not doing the comic) = $3120.

Total for this year: $3140. :P
That's not cost, that's lost potential income. Image :P

In this last year (since I've taken over the art myself):

about $60 in paper; about $50 in pens, pencils, etc; $150 in domain and other techie expenses; about $60 in promotional materials; $50 for advertising; more if you count printer wear-and-tear and Comic-con, but I haven't tracked any of that.

So, about $370 for the past nine months.

This coming year there will be more promotional materials.

Edit to add: None of which is counting manhours, which I have not kept track of -- for myself or my webmaster or promotions dude.

I had a page in there, but forgot to include it in my total... so I guess my total's more like $160 or so. I had a feeling I was forgetting something!

Hmm computer paper at the beginning...I guess $.30 for all the paper I used then. I also used some pens, but I had to buy those anyway, but I guess those would come to $5, and now I use my tablet and photoshop which I had anyway but if we were to factor those two in I guess they would come to about $900.00.
So I cost $905.30.
Yep.

....I was going to start adding stuff up, but all the supplies I've used so far were and are supplies I bought for school, which have served well for both purposes. (or supplies I "found")
I'd say that I haven't made any profit or loss from my comic.
