This is the first community I've ever posted my picture in. Other than this I've shown my picture to maybe *counts briefly* three people online, ever(and not this one either, I'm pretty sure the one I showed was from evil pagent I was in).X space coyote X wrote:Wow, that's the most positive spin on my stubborness I've heard. You have a statement to make and you make it. Besides, you have some of the best artwork on Keenspace. People will be able to identify you with that as easily as they would seeing your face.
Hmmm, let's see... I've been reluctant about showing people online what I look like ever since I got online (7-8 years ago!). My policy used to be, "I'll show you my pic if we've been good friends for a decent amount of time, OR if you show me yours." I then changed that to, "I'll show you my pic ONLY if you show me yours." And now, it's "You don't get to see what I look like unless you see me in person." So, many of my online friends don't know what I look like. Mwaha. But hey, a few of them are equally as shy as I am, and we respect each other's wishes to not be seen.
One of my closest online friends, who I met in real life 2 years ago, recently requested more current pictures of me. I said, "Okay, but you have to show recent pictures of yourself!" And she did, and when I saw how pretty she is, I wussed out and couldn't show her my pictures. Blah. There are equally pretty girls here in this forum, so there's no way I could show myself.
Being this insecure really sucks. I know how dumb it is, but I can't help it. There are days when I don't want to leave the house.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I really envy people who have no problem with showing their face online, whether it be publically or privately. I just want to not care how others may judge me. Then again, even if I WAS more self-confident, I may not want to show a picture of myself. I'm just as stubborn about revealing my real name. Online, when people think of me, I want them to think of the name "space coyote" and my art, not my real name and face. Those are reserved for real life.
Aaaand look at me ramble. THIS IS NOT LIVEJOURNAL, SPACIE. GO CRY ABOUT IT IN YOUR LIVEJOURNAL

Of course what he isn't telling you is he gets ass by telling fangirls at conventions that he is Fred Gallagher.William G wrote:I'm not a Spacer, and I have a Forrest Gump haircut now but:
I long ago discovered that being very unattractive was not going to stand in the way of getting ass. AND BY GOD I DO, CUZ I GOT MOJO!
