Let's see here:Skylark_King wrote:Uh... when did I imply that he didn't?BRP wrote:You missed something in that article. Jack Chick wrote that, I promise!
(emphasis mine)You're absoultely right, I missed that article... it's a riot.
Most of Jack Chick's teachings, including this one(the immediate antecedent for "this" being the article), are rife with closed-mindedness and broad generalities. I can understand the points both you and he are trying to make, it's just that they reek of silliness.
D&D is no different than writing a story, th eonly difference is that it's a group effort and the world background is pre-made. It's little different from playing video-games, like Legend of Zelda or Final Fantasy. At least as far as this conversation and Mr Chick's points are concerned.
There are no "anti-christian elements" in D&D. There is no bit that says "kill all the christians" or "end christianity." While the elements in D&D are not Christian, they are a far cry from anti-Christian. RPGs have gotten a real bad rap because of Mr. Chick and people who make statements not too different than yours. The simple fact is this: it just isn't true
You never implied it. You said it explicitly.
[/quote]That's right, she got PORK recipes in there. Can you BELIEVE it?!BRP wrote:And here's a message from the Christ himself:

Then I should go and burn all my Betty-Crocker cookbooks. Not a mention of the Christ throughout. Clearly not promoting Christianity and therefore evil.
Your logic, not mine.
