The Good News: 3 inches of snow plop in my town, cancelling school.

The Bad News: It's a bitch to drive in, so I'm stuck.

Where the heck do you live that 3 inches of snow would close the school? Hell we've gotten over a foot of snow overnight here at times and the schools will still be open.

3 inches of snow is considered a very light snowfall here.

I concur with that.

Once the doors of our school were packed shut with snow and our dedicated janitors went to work earlier and spent hours removing all of it. School only got delayed one hour.

Maybe he's from Swaziland and 'inch' means 'meter'.

Or by 'snow' he means 'cocaine'. I know if my school were blanketed in 3 inches of cocaine I'd have a hard time studying.

where i live, just about any snow/ice will get school cancled..no one can drive in it. (i'm from houston)however, we haven't really dad more than in inch of snow since i was eight....
never drive in the south when it ices, even if you know how it make it through it, no one else does and it's really dangerous....
however school is cancled due to flooding once or twice usualy.

Yeah, Southerners are pretty clueless when it comes to icy roads...trust me, I grew up in both Churdan, Iowa and Zapata, Texas...

The best part of southern icy weather is having to drive friends around on the icy roads...zooming by the usual 'hot rodders' who had to crawl on the ice, doing donuts in the ice, sliding around corners...

The looks on their faces...they were scared to death!

It's never snowed where I live, or even iced. So school has never been cancelled because of that.
Although once we had a big ol' rainstorm and due to inadequate drainage (REALLY inadequate, my school's on the top of a hill) our school flooded. We had metre-deep water in all the hallways. It was cool. We got to go home at lunchtime.
But they've redone the drainage system so there's no chance of a repeat occurance, and this makes me very sad. Also, I've grown since then so I won't have to doggy-paddle, I could just walk.

I've only had school cancelled when it was on fire and we had random bomb threats. If we had bomb threats during the day...we would just walk onto the oval and sit there...

But if we get three days of 40 degrees in a row, they cancel the fourth day. Too bad that hardly ever happens :(

Haha your school sucked :P
We got to stay home whenever it was forecast to be over 40 celcius. That didn't happen much either, though
