It's another obsene webpage referal!

For discussions, announcements, non-technical questions and anything else comics-related or otherwise that doesn't fit in any of the other categories.

If you go to http://members.keenspace.com/your_username/logs down near the bottom of the page it will list your search strings.

I used my paperbug account just now to look that up and couldn't help noticing PSC on my referrals list a few times! Yanagi doesn't link to me as far as I know... How odd. :-?

(EDIT: Removing a stupid typo I spotted the moment I clicked submit... Again. )

"Search strings" are what people type in to search for using a search engine, like Yahoo! If you aren't in any search engines, you won't get that selection. It's just below referrers on usage stats for a month.

When there's a dropdown, the system puts the page and the dropdown as 1 refferal.

A search string is what someone types in on a search engine to find your site.
You can find it in your logs, unless you don't have any search strings yet. Simple.

When I read comics on daily basa, and that's always a few comics that are interesting to me at the moment, I go through their main pages using favorities list, or adress bar queue. Then, those comics get reffers one from each other, probably even more times a month, because though i read them in different order - it's a pure probability that i go through some of them in same order more days. To me seems obviously that this is what happened, although I must inform that it was not me in case of Odd and PSC.

Btw we all get quiveringfuckholes. In reffers, that is.

While I get no quivering fuckholes, I DO get referrals from urine-fetish message boards. *shudder*

I thought we covered this whole referral thing before!? If someone visits someone else's site before visiting yours, then that page comes up as a referral. So if they type in your address or go to their bookmarks to get to your site, then the site they previously visited pops up as a referral. At least, that's how it was explained before I think...

But obviously, everybody wasn't paying attention. That RARELY happens and if you've got more than 1 or 2 referrals coming from a site, there's gotta be some other explanation.

Some sites (mostly porn, it seems), have some sort of script that "writes" a referral when you travel from that site to somebody else's. That's where your average inexplicable referral is going to come from.
Of course, I'm the one that isn't JP Sloan or Jim North.

So a few people who had finished reading PSC were magically by the thought to visit Paperbug?

A comic that has been dormant since freakin' March?!

I need to spin this over...

*spins around*

Yeah, but we have to repeat it again, so that those who didn't know it last time would have pleasure to explain it to someone too.

Actually, I tested that theory and I don't think it's true. It was probably a glitch if anything. Also, if you look at your referrers, usually all of 'em but maybe one or two will have a link to your site or something...it's usually not a coincidence.

But doesn't the referal come up as Direct Request if you type it in the little address bar?
