Wuzzup? (Anyone else in a slump lately?)

(sigh)...Jessy is so bored...That's why I decided to write a topic here... the topic...I do now know. I'm just bored with shameless plugs and questions and the like.. Bleh... (feels all akward now) So I was just wondering what drives people to wake up in the morning and do their comic. I'm thinking I might start up some depressed artist club, so that I can find people not irritated with my misery. I'm just in a slump, lacking motivation, my fellow artists should understand. Ah, often I have felt the biting sting of depression. That feeling of hoplessness, the lack of energy and all-around oogy feeling... but you know, I've discovered something that always helps me get out of my funk:Narcotics. Lots of them. Illegal, if available. And I've been playing Devil May Cry a lot recently. Violence always seems to cheer me up.Just roll with it. Do it for the fanbase! Do it for your readers! Do it for you. Lance from N'Sync... you're right, that IS scary.------------------

I'm reading through the squadron archives right now... I never looked at it because the term "Squadron" made me think of sci fi or military for some reason.dude, this is WEIRD stuff, very abstract, but that's cool. The art is good and it's fun! I like the chicken suit strip and when artist bites the kids head.As for the boringness, I know how that is. Every now and again you hit a funk, for me it's usually a desire to be doing something else. Maybe do something off center with the strip, change directions, start a new story, something along those lines? That's always a good way to regain interest..Well, good luck!~Steve------------------

Looking back at what I wrote... I sound lonely. HAH. Okay that was pointless.Anyway,thanks for the advice Gigas, lately I've been toking up (I toked up on a 4 foot bong once <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif"> ) but for some reason drugs don't work on me. And violence is extremely pointles...but very fun. I like the cries of pain. Hehe, you actually looked at that one comic with Lance huh? I was just being cheap there but I thought it was funny anyway.And thanks Steve for reading through the archives. Squadron does sound like it would be serious, I thought nobody would ever read my comic because of that title. I admit it is astraying from the usual. Thanks for liking the strips I appear in, yet I only wish I could bite kids heads off... I've tried. They taste funny.And Thanks for your support too Joe, I'm so happy I actually have a fan! Yay, if you could see me now I'm doing a strange Irish jig of joy. Okay enough of that. I guess I'm not really bored with shameless plugs 'cause this whole topic kinda seemed like one. O-well. AnAs for being in a slump, I think it'll pass. Your support has really helped. I think I get too much support sometimes...but then again, better to have more than enough than not enough. Slumps eh? Yeah, I hear that. I am however glad to hear that I'm not the only one who feels this way. I thought artists of this genre with happy go lucky people who are alays funny. So it's not just me then. Yes, I have days where I just want to quit and other days I say "What the hell was I thinking?" The best advice I can give is that it just happens and it's perfectly normal.------------------

i think i'm in a bit of a slump right now too, but it's really just because i realized just how unpopular my own strip really is. but i still make strips, because, after years of drugs and getting hit in the head, i've reached a higher state of zen-like existance. when all the bad stuff rolls off me like piss on a duck, and i'm left with this clear, blissful apathy. you should try it, it's great. yeah, squadron is kewl. i don't think i've ever made it all the way through the archives, though. being apathetic takes up a lot of time, doncha know. ------------------

You can also reach enlightenment by huffing starter fluid and running into a brick wall. It may take a few tries, but you'll get it -and conserve precious, precious drugs in the process.------------------

I'm in a pre-comic slump. Getting impatient waiting for keenspace to add me. I suppose that's not technically a slump, probably more of a nervous twitch. Maybe a slumped nervous twitch.
