Keenlace 2011

As you may already know, last year I was successful in reviving the old tradition of Keenlace. Well this year I'm getting a head start and announcing it early. Thus Keenlace 2011 now hosted at http://keenlace.stalo.com kicks off.

For those not familiar with the tradition, Keenlace is a yearly event held around February where members of the webcomic community be they comicgen or not, draw pictures of their characters in various stages of bedtime wear. Scanty lingerie, PJs, Undies, or nothing but a smile. Submissions go up on the Keenlace website and are archived along with a link back to your comic. It's both a fun event for artists, and a great way to promote your comic.

This announcement is just a heads up. Submissions open Feb. 1st and remain open through the month of February. Actual posting of pics begins February 14th and runs as long as material to post remains.

That said, start the planning your entries and have fun.

While I used to pose without a shirt for previous Keenlaces, I'm going to have to pass because I'm now a professional in a workplace that would probably frown upon me continuing to engage in such behavior. Though I guess I could always lie and say "it was for a girlfriend"...

I might consider it, but I haven't really been in the mood for drawing naughty things lately.

Maybe I could "take one for the team" as it were to help out the community.

Just letting you guys know, that postings for 2011 have begun. Unlike previous managers I won't be updating in "Waves" but rather weeks, which have single pic updates, meaning every pic submitted gets a little time in the limelight. This year I'm also linking the latest post on the front page. I've got enough material for 2 weeks, but I'm aiming for a month if anyone else wants to send stuff in.

Strikes me that a fictional autobiographical comic isn't well suited to this sort of thing. But it did make me think of Manicorn in a speedo, and that was terrifying.

What about a comic that I haven't yet published? Maybe I'll just have to wait until next year.
