What's the sound of a woman falling on a man?

Post by Fabio Ciccone »

OK, so I'm here translanting this strip to English and a question arises in my mind: what's the sound of a woman falling on a man in English? I've been reading American comics for a long time and I really don't remember reading any onomatopeia that sounds good enough.

What do you guys think?

I'd add a "h" and make it "WHUMPH." Sounds more organic and breathy to me.

As long as elbows and knees are avoided I'd say "Mmmm."

Thanks guys. I'll probably go with the WHUMPH. For some reason the letters look nice together.

Here's your prize: a woman.

Let's see what sound she makes when she lands on him.

Why change it at all? Sound effects don't need translations. CAPLOF! is perfectly fine.

That's true.

I once used "PUNCTURE!" as a sound effect.

You are a copycat! I'm even starting to doubt about all those comics that you claim stole from your old comics, if it was all true.
