In all honesty, I don't know. The best idea I can come up with is passively advertising the site and the forums on other forums in hopes of getting new memvers.

Hm? Nah. I know my postcount is still low, but I've posted in other threads before that one. I was actually surprised I got comments in that one. And now here.

I was asking more along the lines of, what do you expect from this forum. What kind of activities, etc.

That'd be great except that any time I post something I feel like I'm being ignored by the oldbies.

Speaking for myself, I usually don't reply to something unless I have something constructive/funny to say. I think that if your posts aren't replied to, that doesn't mean people are ignoring you, just that they don't have anything to add to them.

We've had a lot of people recently sign up and post in the Introduction thread... and of course the Fuzzle McDuffies thread, even if was only to activate their siteadmins. What those people should do is stick around and make up for the people who don't visit anymore.

Maybe we should treat every newbie in introduction thread with some flattering/humiliating drawing of him, thus fooling them into thinking that it's always that fun.

It's like this everywhere. Sometimes I try to find communities dedicated to creativity and contribution and whatever, but they're almost always dead.

Then again maybe we should use that as oportunity to start doing things on smaller scale?

so, what can we do to get people involved in the forums again? I ask partially because I now have my own forums and am very interested in getting people to participate in that. What does it take to get people involved in forums?

Good question Lego. It's not all readers who goes to the forums, at least, webcomic wise. Those I see who do have lots of activities are mostly big name wecomics, so probably you'll have activity but most of us small comics won't.
As for here, we already are seeing some sparks of life, we just need to ignite it. Heck, this thread is a proof we can still communicate without tearing each other apart with rusty claws and vinegar.

I dunno, a forum-specific content? Like a tie-in comic that's only posten on forums? Or engaging a few of your most loyal fans to make something of their own, like to make daily tongue-in-cheek analyzes of the comic?
