It's subtle, yet somehow also a big difference.
Which goes for a lot of people's. Pretty cool, when you think of it, how little changes have such a huge effect.

This is going to be painful, but in the interest of science...

Keep in mind these were originally book characters; I only recently tried to whip them into comic form.

Love these threads! Since we redrew the first pages last fall, it's easy to compare:

I screwed up, though. It's supposed to say 2005, not 2004...

Hahahaha Tarts I want to hug the 2005 one, he looks like a big fat plush toy that you'd win at a carnival.

Over we have the dunk-an-artist booth, 3 balls for $5!
And for all you forum members we have the ever popular Whack-a-Troll!

Hahaha I would so go to that carnival too. I particularly like Whack a Troll and the abandoned comic freak show.
Siteadmin can be the one ride that everyone wants to go on but it's broken down all the time.
(had to make that joke, no offense to those who work hard to keep our rides running!)
And you could have that thing where you put your head through the hole so it looks like you have a silly cartoon body, but just go around putting your character's heads on other people's character's bodies.
(That sentence sounded like someone pooped out playdoh but I couldn't figure out how to parse it any better)

I actually went through your archives and compared the old pages and the new pages side by side (the new ones are totally better but damn, the old ones were still great) and then got totally hooked. That's a very awesome comic you're makin' there!Mattias wrote:Love these threads! Since we redrew the first pages last fall, it's easy to compare:

But yeah I want more too.

Ooohhh, I've always wanted to join one of these things. Here's mine. This guy's taken some of my worst practice art abuse.

Holy snuff muffins! Nothing like lining up all your old art to see how much you've improved.

Re: Oooh character evolution!
haha, i still have this one lying around:

(2002ish to Present)
And then of course there's these two, which I will never get enough of

I love picking old pictures that I used to think were awesome, and redrawing them. It amazes me how different they come out.

(Maybe it was unnecessary to redraw anything... everyone seem to think to old pages were fine!)
Re: Oooh character evolution!
Here's something from way back. Left side scanned in 2004 and probably drawn around 2001-02, right side a few months ago. Too bad I didn't have time to scan - I could have posted some truly hideous "art" from last century.

Wow, hard to believe you COULD improve from the first shots, until you see the second set >.< and, technically, said "hideous 'ar't'" would be from the last MILLENNIUM, no?Samuli wrote:Here's something from way back.
