On a side note, did you know that a small percentage of people are immune to general anesthetic? Apparently, and unfortunately, I am one of those. Felt EVERY cut.
I don't know if "immune" is the right word. but for me it takes a copious amount for me to go under and then its very slow working. Last surgery I knocked out post surgery. *l*

Woke up mid surgery once. And in Holland my anesthesiologist says I'm the fastest guy he's ever seen wake up in his career, so happy with that.

I have internet again. Sniper Hill is still crap because they had to come three times because they don't even give me a time they intend to come. Thankfully, this time they just had KBR let them in and fixed it in ten minutes, leaving a nice happy note on my laptop.

I never realized how much effort it takes to manage money until I had money to manage. I've now got 2 CDs, an investment account, Roth IRA, and a checking and savings account with USAA. Actually figuring out how to use the IRA took me a day or two because my other one (which I now no longer intend to use) was all automatically managed. This I manage myself. Now to actually TRANSFER the old IRA.
(For all you recent college grads, start investing NOW for your retirement because the market is stable and now recovering. Expect GROWTH.)

I do get to make it to a convention this year. Ziggurat Con 09, to be held at COB Adder July 26th. I've already got donations from a store in Texas, now to hit up Wizards directly.

By "Hit up Wizards" I hope you mean gun them down with military hardware.

:shifty:

Wizards of the Coast cost me ten thousand dollars several years ago, and ruined my favorite roleplaying game to boot. They're all bastards and kick puppies in their spare time. You don't really have to gun them down, but if you accidentally ran over a few of their cars with a tank, I'd be overjoyed.

Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.
"Data" is not the plural of "anecdote"

Sadly my unit doesn't move tanks. Nothing heavier than 34 tons, if I'm remembering our trailers correctly. Might be 10 tons. Either way, an Abrams won't fit. Plus, I don't even get to shoot anything larger than my rifle.

YET for some reason my unit has crates of rocket launchers, fragmentary grenades, 40mm rounds, and .50 cal rounds. But we have no way of engaging the enemy without leaving our trucks. It's what you would call ironic. Though true irony is the Quartermaster unit having gun trucks, the artillery units being gun trucks, but the truck company that ran gun truck missions in its previous tour...HAS NO GUN TRUCKS.

And 4.0 has taken off rather rapidly here, Ryan, due to its simplistic nature. Much faster to get a game going and to bring in new people. I went from a 3 person game to 11 people (don't ask how I manage, but somehow I do).

At the risk of ruining the effect, I made it into a link, Senshi. Most of us won't object, but I know for a fact that a few people here wouldn't be able to stomach the mouse-swallowing part.

I may have mentioned that my parents are losing their house. Well, yesterday we decided to buy it. We're getting it for a song, and my parents don't have to move.

I write songs about my life and post it on DA....and my songs sometimes relate or reference events in my life that involve my friends. I know some of the subject matter would bother them yet I dont' want to not post my work. Am I wrong for not censoring my work? I asked some people already and they said remove the work and so I took down some of the songs, but a new one I made was faved by 2 people in like 5 minutes and that's really encouraging. I don't want to end that over a maybe.

Got a tooth pulled once. I thought the anasthetic used was damn powerful, seeing as it was a molar and my front teeth had gone numb. Dentist must have hit a blood vessel, because when he started pulling the tooth out, the area that needed numbing hadn't gotten it, despite the needle having been applied there. My dentist was amazed at how big the tooth was as well...

Day 3 after surgery's going fine. So far, I've had zero swelling, no bruising, no real pain to speak of beyond the surgery itself. The only after effect I've got beyond some itchiness is this vague feeling that I've been kicked in the balls repeatedly at some point in the recent past.

Uncomfortable, yes, but it'll pass, and it's worth it.

Good visit with mom-in-law. Tristan and her became best friends. Last time she saw him was shortly after his birth. :D

She also brought me some new shirts, shoes and lovely glass pendant necklaces for mother's day. Must say it's nice to have something that actually fits. Now just to find some pants and slacks that also fit.

Oh, on baby news - Tristan has started working on crawling. He can get up but just can't get the idea of how to move everything in sync to get where he wants to go. So determined yet gets so frustrated that he just can't do it yet.
