Micheal Turner, creator of Witchblade and Fathom, died yesterday. He was young, too.
Witchblade, especially, has become somewhat of a cult icon, spawning all sorts of spinoffs, including a television show, and an animated cartoon or three. He made his mark on the mainstream of American comics, if only because the way in which he drew women was emulated quite heavily for many years.
I never was too into his work, myself, but I appreciate his impact, nonetheless.

Re: Micheal Turner died.
My first comic ever was Witchblade #24, so if it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be reading comics or webcomics for that matter, at all.
RIP.

Why is it artists all die of complicated diseases?
At least they're not all ODing like young Hollywood.
He'll be missed to say the least.
