Thanks for kind words.
Comic is set in Spain indeed, following actual historical events of the time.

Thank you for the review, Cuendolin :D
Looks like I still have some kinks to work out in the comic, but it's looking better than around this time last year. So far, the even years being better than odds thing is working. 8-)

I wanna say that these threads are a great idea and i hope to participate again in the future. Mr. McDuffies's review was really helpful and was especially helpful becuase I'm new to the comic drawing on the interwebs game. I can only hope my review was helpful too.
Ever felt like a little bug in a big world? Yeah so do we ;)

I'm finding it difficult to draw at work when things are slow now (lack of the essential muse more than anything), but this was no problem. Keep this alive for me will you DK? I'd like to do another next week.

Hey Serge, thanks for the review. I'm sorry it's been so hard to read, english is not my mother tongue and I was not aware It was so bad.
I'd like to practice writing in order to improve but that's no excuse for torture innocent people.
Anyway, thanks for your opinion and taking the time to read it. You provide some valid points.
Now I have to find a way of fixing it.

Well your grammar and spelling has improved a great deal. Perhaps I understated that and for this I apologize. What I wanted to point out, though, is that your characters are a bit too one dimensional and the conflicts lack a bit of clarity. This is easily remedied through re-examining characters and devoting story arcs to presenting them with conflicts that'll draw this out (the one you currently have going with Ignatus is a good opportunity) and through some exposition for the more technical stuff, like just what Ignatus' knees are doing. Sorry if that was too harsh dude.

If you're gonna criticize somebody, you might as well at least try to be a positive example.

Pardon me for being casaul. The difference between a comic and a forum is that in a comic poor spelling will dispel any immersion where as poor spelling in a forum will just make anal people laugh and feel superior.

I actually didn't notice any of Serge's misspellings when I first read that post, only after LC pointed them out. Curious!

Oh, Serge, I read your comic-thing. I laughed a few times, so that's a good sign. Like, that "Old Spice" one was great. Some of your handwriting's a little hard to read, though.

Why is it being published alongside the Dodging Bullets one like that, though? Kinda weirds me.

Reading Days and Doging Bullets are both in the Gettysburg College newspaper, and the only ones there. Its a joint effort between my roomate and I. Reading Days is going for a more "home-made" look, hence the handwritting. This was from the advice of my friends. Its what I'm curious about from an onlie audience. The comics are printed large, 4.5x11 so its easy to read in print, but online width gets reduced from around 3000pixels to 800.

Or poetic. :) But, in that case, it wouldn't be a constructive way to respond to Cuendolin, who seems legitimately interested in improving his craftsmanship.

I think it's more anal to complain about the spelling in a funny cartoon, particularly one whose author isn't a native English-speaker, than to complain about it in a thread made for the discussion of criticism.

These points would make sense if I were disagreeing with Serge's fundamental idea, which is that proper spelling is important. However, I clearly also think that proper spelling is important, so I'm not attacking his argument. The digression is that Serge makes a distinction between comics as having "formal" writing and forums as having "informal" writing, whereas I don't make a distinction between the two, or at least not in that way.

Then you should read slower, and more carefully.

I can't spell at all and my handwriting is awful, hence why I type everything out in word then edit it in...yet I still find ways to misspell words. Damn dyslexia (no seriously, I actually have it. Its not that bad but I often find that I type in "thigns" instead of "things" and I have an awful time reading really complicated user names like "Arcaton" becomes "Aracton" and "Aecas" becomes "Aceas" in my mind.)

Then lets agree to disagree, we have different value foundations that prevent us from seeing eye to eye on this.

No wai! Do you know just how much stuff I have to read? That's right, half the internet each and every day. It's crucial that this is done. Trust me.

At least you don't have problems with "mDcuffies".

I didn't get offended by the review.
I feel insecure about my writing skills, now I have some clues to try to get better so that's good.
First step: Finding a spell checker. :D
