Any superhero whose powers are magically based, in a world that allows magic, are fine.TRI wrote:In for a penny, in for a pound, Ryan: now go nitpick every other super hero power ever created until you find one that makes perfect sense.

And I was poking fun anyhow. Sheesh. But really, coating people with Amber? The Gemological Institute of America would be her Arch Nemesis.
"DAMN YOU! AMBER WAS WORTH SOMETHING UNTIL YOU CAME ALONG!"
Hmm, gives off an "m" aura to me as well... How about Marie? Marlene? Or Melissa, as already suggested? Last name obviously depends on her ethnicity, but something simple and common would sound cool and contrast her later use of the superheroesque name nicely, in my opnion. How about Melissa Thompson?
"It's all for the greater good - we'll turn this guy over to the police once we've brushed every milligram of amber off of him."
They should just form a special force to follow her around and confiscate everyone she turns into amber:rkolter wrote:But really, coating people with Amber? The Gemological Institute of America would be her Arch Nemesis.

That special force could then start to confiscate Amber from wherever it's found, not just this superhero's emissions.
Eventually, they'd be the DeBeers of the Amber world. They'd have a lock on the market, and would stiffle competition. They would murder people trying to get around their ruleings, and so reduce the amount of material on the market that it's value would skyrocket.
Then, someone would kidnap this superhero's family, to force her to make amber for them. The enemy would become an ally, freeing the superhero and taking the hapless would-be monopoly buster away, never to be found.
... actually, I'm starting to really like this character.

They'd also have to launch a DeBeers style ad campaign to drive up demand. "Amber is forever." "Amber is a girl's best friend." "This year, give her amber."
Could make for some interesting billboards and TV ads in the background.
Not to mention Hollywood starlets wearing extravagant borrowed designer amber jewelry to awards shows.

This webcomic, seen here is hosted on the free web host Comic Genesis which pretty much proves its not popular.
