So many of them in this round are badly drawn, contain injokes, or have that annoying "look at me, I'm awful, so aren't I FUNNY?" quality to it. It's rather depressing.
This is going in my notebook titled "Things I Didn't Know about Surface Dwellers."

Does this mean we've finally found someone who's a match for Joel?

And yeah, I think some of the comics in this round are just trying to be bad. There's one called " My Eyes! X_X " that doesn't even link to a website.

That one was better than most of the competitors.

Which says something.

Something not good.

No way, he isn't nearly as bad as Joel.

Not even a match for Cookie honestly. We have to see more puns to get her any higher than that.

You guys weren't kidding about the quality of some of the comics. They either lack a cohesive gag narrative or go for the lowest common denominator when it comes to comedy (such as stating the obvious in an obvious way). They kinda inspired me to create a "script doctor" style site for writers in a comic strip style. Maybe I'll look into it one day.
This has been the Dark Spider...

I just stuck up an older, poorly drawn comic strip I did back in university since I don't have any newer, better drawn pages that work as gag strips. Let's see how it fares against the other poorly drawn strips. Hopefully I won't get set against Legendary... that guy's, like, legendary or something.

This thing must be made by Diebold or something. I just voted for "Shonen Ai Kudasai" and it tells me I voted for "Phili the Movie." "Phili the Movie" wasn't even in that competition.

Yeah . . . it was a tough call. Really 'though, that's just bad luck to get paired up against a good comic on your first go.

On the other hand, I guess most people don't find it a tough call between Col and Creepy Carly.
Col's whupping Creepy Carly's creepy butt.
