the large 500's (the half a millenium club)

Post by KOMP »

okay so i passed the 500 mark on pages, (546)
i'm not one to go announce whenever i hit a certain mark, ironically,
but i saw someone's thread where they hit 100 and it's indeed something to be proud of.
(edit: my mistake vorticus i dunno why it didn't spring to mind when it's on the front
page, must've been the stoli!)
who else has 500 plus pages in their archives.
although a lot will say it's quality over quantity.
but that's at least a good chunk of story there? right.
so bring out your 500 and lets see those comics that have been here for a while and have been going or
ended past 500.

Congrats. The 100 thread was mine and yes that happens around here occasionally. I also have another comic that lasted for over 500 comics, but it's done now.

Congratulations, KOMP!

We have people with over 1000 pages on CG ('Phil Likes Tacos' is the king, as far as I know), so if you want to turn this into a penis-waving contest you should realize that you're going to lose to someone else. :) But if it's a landmark for you, celebrate it! Don't be shy! :)

100 pages mark is, I guess, something of a mark where you start being certain that comicker isn't one of those many guys who just go to indefinite hiatus without getting to the plot. Kind of place where he shows that he's really dedicated to his comic and not just doing it because everyone else is doing it.

500 pages is an achievement though. Congrats!

wow remus, calm down sweetheart.
you read into this post too negatively.
alot of people post their 100th comic,
and that's awesome, i never did it, so i
might as well have done it past 500 right, honeycakes?
i mean, come on, it's not that serious. i just
asked if there's anyone else with expansive comics out
there and you're already trying to take the piss out of
something i worked hard on for the past few years.
thanks alot for the concern though, sugarcakes. :D

What what what? There was nothing negative about my post! My congratulations are sincere, I offered an example of what you wanted to see, and I encouraged you or anyone else to celebrate whatever was important to them.

I'm sorry if you took anything I said as negative -- none of it was meant that way!

I'm getting close. Although I may be just about there, if not already at 500, if my HDCs count. Which I don't, so I'm getting close. :)

Congrats on 500! It's definately something to be proud of!

At my rate I'll make that mark in about 6 or 7 years, but hey, it's a mark worth striving for. ;)

Congratulations KOMP!
This webcomic, seen here is hosted on the free web host Comic Genesis which pretty much proves its not popular.

Warren's Spare change has waay over 1000 comics.

McDuffies reached 900 something before I stopped. It didn't get quite to 1000.

Congrats on the milestone and yes it does seem like your topic's gone off on a tanjent.

I'm almost at 500. I've drawn 488 and posted 474, not counting filler.
Should hit an official 500 sometime in early fall.

As for finding long running comics, seems to me that'd make a good set of wiki categories: "comics with less than 100 updates;" "comics with 100-499 updates;" "comics with 500-999 updates;" "comics with over 1000 updates." Okay, maybe not those numbers specifically but you get the idea. That way along with browsing by rating, content, language, region, style, and update Frequency, you could browse by length.

I just hit 500 this year with EE, 526 comics atm. My other webcomic UF is only at 255, so halfway to 500.

I am profane. Ask the people at the cookout -- every other sentence I uttered had an expletive in it. I talk like the Godfather with Tourette's syndrome. Which is to say, like my fucking father. ;) That does not mean that I intend those words to harm, however.

But seriously, if you're looking for long-running comics, check out Phil Likes Tacos. I thought he was the current champ on Comic Genesis, with four years of uninterrupted daily updates, but now I see that he's number two, with Warren's Spare Change holding the title. Both are funny comics. :)
