Since this is a comic about a President of the United States, aren't you required by law to address the whole "thousands murdered so let's kill millions" issue? Or did this not happen in P.A.ville because he gave free pie to all the people who want to kill us and therefore averted the situation?

This is one of the types of reasons I personally hesistated on PA during the CLINTON years (to show my impartialness, and unwillingness to turn PA into parody of a real acting president).
PA was birthed in a wacky, unrealistic yet parody manner, and I feel, to comment on things like this now, could be wrong.
I think.
Although Bob and I have discussed it, we feel that perhaps now is not the time to proceed with something that could be interpreted as mocking the death of thousands, or the commander in chief (although he is a twit and puppet).
Of course, it's probably all hampered by the fact that neither one of us can really come up with a way to actually ADDRESS this in the PA universe.
But, like I've stated in FJ, it's too big to ignore. (for me, anyway.)
I don't know.I really just don't know.
------------------

I did intend to deal with this more immediately on this very message board, but I'm guessing that all of you will agree that the last week has really been anything but ordinary. Keeping any kind of schedule is difficult no matter how far removed one is from the events in New York and our nations capital.
As Mike says, there are no real plans to include any references to the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks at this time. It will probably stay that way. The reasoning behind this, at least my reasoning, is that any sort of use of such tragic and horrific events could be seen as trying to make light of a very serious occurrence. And I don't want President Ass to be seen as an extremist comic that crosses the line into tastelessness (in that particular way, at least).
I'll probably be making a broader statement regarding the attacks and the current state of affairs within the next week. And I'm sure many will disagree with some of the things I'll say at that time, but I feel that they need to be said nonetheless.
My deepest sympathy goes out to all who have lost loved ones in these terrorist attacks.
Bob Scott
------------------
