(And no, I'm not talking about David Cronenberg films, either.)
Do you have access to any other scanner while you're scanner's out? What kind was it? How hard is it to get a scanner in the .ph?

nope. no scanners :
the old one was a plug'n'play mustek 1200ed.
the new one i'm planning to get is a microtek 3630 (? i think).
it isn't too hard to look for a scanner here... i'm just not too familiar with scanners. and aside from the comics, and my other art, plus pictures from time to time, i don't *really* need a scanner. so, i'm not really looking for anything too fancy or expensive.
any suggestions?

------------------

It was accidental.
As for Mika's artwork. Sure... I'll scan and post it for you. ~_^

------------------

When's the next time you're going to visit, and where? (Reason I ask is because I'm not familiar with international shipping, but I'm afraid it'd be more than the price of the scanner.)
For what you say you do, a cheapie will do quite fine (aside from what you grouped as "other art".) For what it's worth, the stuff I posted I scanned in on a multifunction (printer / scanner / fax / copier / kitchen sink).
Or... you could surface mail your artwork to Ghastly and let him scan it in. (Perhaps after he's made some modifications to it? :satan: )

Incidently. I went to college with a guy who worked on the movie Scanners and he told me how the famous "exploding head" trick was done. They made of mould of Louis DelGrande's head and used that mould to make a big Louis DelGrande head of red jello. It then had latex makeup and other cosmetics added to it until it looked pretty close to Louis and was mounted on a fake body then exploded. The Jello-Head never appears until the explosion takes place and the explosion happens so fast that nobody ever notices that it is made of Jello.
Interestingly enough, this is the only picture of Louis DelGrande I can find on the internet. It would seem there are more pictures of my wife on the internet than there are picture of Louis DelGrande.

------------------

Scanners (the movie, not the peripheral) was one of my primary gaming / plotting influences. One of my campaigns was summarized as "Scanners meets Highlander meets Aliens meets anime." Quite fun.
On a related note, Jet Li's new film The One I describe as "Scanners meets Matrix". Looking forward to that.
[This message has been edited by Taer (edited 10-30-2001).]
