Couple of things: First, the bloodiest crap of an anime I ever saw was Fist of the North Star. THAT is gory. It also lacks any sort of plot to get in the way of the blood, so you're not not distracted.
Second, fake snow is largely chemical, so it melts a a higher temperature slower than regular snow, but is really quite similar to the crushed ice thing similar to what you end up with when you make fake snow. It's also similar to when real snow is old and packed down, minus the lower melting point. REAL snow that's fresh is very, VERY powdery and fluffy. That's the stuff that melts instantly on your tongue, and you can toss like confetti into the air. ^o^;; A shame I've only encountered fresh snow once or twice.
Third: I've been to England and Ireland in the late-winter/early spring, and I didn't have much trouble ambling about in shorts. Of course, I'm also what I like to call a chunk-ass, so I have a layer of fat that seems to make all the difference. Oh, and while I'm talking about weight, I curse all of you scuz-buckets with jack-rabbit metabolisms. I have a friend like that, and he eats about 4 times what I do. Dirt bag weighs about 107 pounds.

One last thing- since we all seem to be eyeing each other strangely for not liking one kind of weather, I'll further confuse things by saying that I really like either being fairly cold (within reason) or extremely hot. That "comfortable 70 degrees" everyone keeps talking about is down-right bothersome. Of course, when it's hot, I need it to be humid, so the inside of my nose doesn't chafe. =D Florida weather r001z.

Ahhh... snow *reminces* I was lucky enough to have actually seen and experienced fresh falling snow when i was in Colorado last April. I LOVED IT.
Florida on the other hand burnt me. Crisp. And I do not like going *OUCH* everytime i put clothes on.
Hmmmm.. I liked Las Vegas weather. And Cali around May. But it got too hot around June/July. I like Aussie weather around April too
My, I *am* choosy.
------------------

No trades.... I wount go anywhere NEAR snow. It's cold, it's wet, i fall down a lor, sprain my ankles, dislocate my knees, and get hypothermia.
Instead, i'll enjoy my nice hot sunny day....
But here's my real theory.... you tend to like the weather you were born in. Does anyone agree with this ?
------------------

yeah totaly.
born in the U.K. raised in canada, stuck in australia.
is it any wonder i miss a cold climate.......
they reckon you aclimatise to your weather conditions in the first 2 yrs of your life. thats what you will be most comfortable in thereafter. note "most comfortable", not happiest. happiest is probably who you're with or something.
------------------

*sniff* thank you mika..i feel much better The thing is... in england since anime isn't very popular neither is manga... like i said previously if you don't want to get a hold of any you need to know japanese really well since you have to go to the japanese areas of london into a japanese shop ask in japanese for the manga and then be able to read it... in japanese I do have some english manga tho from america... one db, two oh my goddess, four sailor moon... and that's about it. I have yet to find anywhere in london that sells english manga.
And AKIRA was soooo loverly, i really want his bike Vroom Vroom Vroooooooooooooooooom
------------------

What the hell???? like, half of my PAL manga tapes are engilsh imports (i'm australian)that's a lot of video lassie. I ASSURE you, they are out there somewhere.
Manga Video has an english office/publishing arm, try their web site. Alternitvly, you dear liddle ditz, try out madman entertainment at http://www.madman.com.au
cause although its still imported, the pound is incredibly strong with regards to the aus dollar (about au$2.5 to one pound last I checked) so you can get a cheap fix there.
oh and Tiwaneese DVD roxxorz but due to the fucking low australian dollar, they are often as expensive as non pirates
sigh...
------------------

*cries* This is sooo unfair... all you people get to watch nice bloody, violent anime whilst i'm stuck watching Pokemon or something (argh if i hear pika pika one more time i swear...) This is because england does not fully recognize the beauty of anime, the best we've got so far is DBZ ocean dub which toonami has stopped showing over the holidays -_- and something called shinzo! The sci-fi channel does show an anime movie every saturday but they often do repeats grr... In fact, the only way to get hold of any manga...is to order off the net or learn to speak japanese. Just to feel loved and part of this conversation tho i have to recommend anyone who hasn't seen AKIRA (i know where you live -_-) TO GO AND FIND SOMEWAY OF SEEING IT!! The one good anime i HAVE seeeeeeeeeeeen *drives away on Kaneda's luverly motorcycle*
------------------

Another good reason to live in Japan (for me, anyway): They have perhaps the most severly seasonal weather in the world: bloody hot and humid in the summer (yay!), bloody cold and dry in the winter (yay once more!). I hope I can make enough cash as a teacher to afford rent there. ^o^;;

Awww poor Ali! *huggles Ali too!*
We never get any cool violent anime on tv
too (well, cept for the kinda newish AXN action channel that yay! has anime). Most of the stuff i've seen are from my friends' vids. We never buy the same stuff so we can just borrow from each other and have anime nights
We understand about 50% of chinese from mangas, so we buy the taiwanese 'pirated' mangas. (I know, I know, bad mika). Don't you have the english mangas around in bookstores? They're quite expensive tho...
Akira!!!!!! Ooh, that ruled.
And Pokemon too! *huggles her talking Pikachu*
------------------
