Tight and skimpy clothing. Then perhaps draw Kazumi in some skimpy frilly little outfits with bows. Yes, that would be just the thing to do.
Meekerz yuri!

------------------

They would likely frown on that. But you can set up your Meekerz.com URL to point to your keenspace account.
So... thinking of changing format eh? Have you given any thought to... oh... let's say hentai. A Meekerz/Kazumi/Bee threesome would probably be well received.

------------------

http://itswalky.com/ made an interesting transition from college angst to Men in Black style tongue-in-cheek "secret war against aliens" action. Perhaps you could change the tone as well ... they find out rival uni is doing (what?)
As for changing the format - i personally like three or four panel strips. A majority of the webcomics i regularly follow are that format. The one exception was trying to do an "online manga", but I worry that it turned out to be too much for the author - it's been very infrequently updated of late.

If I tried to make a book-styled manga online I would have to completely script out the entire story before I started. I wouldn't be able to make it up as I went along like I have with my comic.
I do have some ideas for a book-styled manga but I won't take on a project like that for some time as I'm concentrating on building up the readership of my current webcomic. This week my readership has grown to over 1000 readers each day.

------------------

1000 readers a DAY?!?!?!?!?!?!
i've actually started a manga style comic, totally different story, but still with meekerz and bee... i'm about 1/3 done. too much frames, too much lines ^_^ i'd do manga style as long as i don't have to draw LINES.
as for format change... i think im gonna play with 3 frame or 4 frame panels for now i gotta introduce a couple more characters first before i can get to the fun-no-story-and-definetely-not-real stories
and no, no hentai
mika
------------------

That's guarenteed readers right there. I'm also linked from the front page of Sexy Losers and Sunday Morning Coffee and Sexy Losers both have done parodies of my characters which always generates visits.
If you really want to get lots of readers then find a popular comic with a forum and start posting very regularily to their forum with your URL in your signature. That gets you visits. Just make sure you don't act like a weener on that forum and you've got it made.

quote:

Regarding parodies:
Whatever you do ask permission first. I've seen / read about a few incidents of flaming emails because one web cartoonist decided to 'pay homage' to one of his/her favorite web strip characters by having that person do a cameo, but neglected to ask permission (hence the flaming email).

Feh! You're under no legal obligation to ask permission to do a parody. Parody is allowed by the "Fair Use" act of the copyright law. You don't think Saturday Night Live asks permission everytime it does a parody in the Weekend update or a skit.
"President Bush... we'd like to make fun of you in a skit, is that okay?"
I say let the flames fall where they may. I always get a chuckle out of it when people try to flame me. It's just ascii on my computer screen.

Two considerations re: Parody

Ghastly is right re: Parody, but for US (and probably Canada) infringements. In France, I believe (not sure) you cannot use a character in a parody (or otherwise) w/o the permission of the creator or his/her descendants.

Legalities aside, I would feel it to be merely polite to ask for permission to use someone else's character. Were I a published (web or otherwise) artist, I'd feel that way, so why should I feel differently on the other end of the choice?

1) Don't get me started on the french, those cheese eating, surrender monkeys. Besides, I'm Canadian so their laws don't apply to me.
2) If people want polite let them go read Marmaduke. I mean, even if I did ask before doing a parody, if the person said "no" I'd still go ahead and do it anyways which would probably just make them even more pissed off.

------------------
