What comics are eligable for the WCCA?

Does it matter if the comic is on both the internet and in print papers?
Does the comic have to be a year old?
Does it currently have to be active? Can it be on Hiatus?

Gimme the scoop please.

Sorry it took a while to get back in here, it's been a busy week.

A comic is eligable as long as it started off as, and continues as a webcomic. So a comic like Garfield, which also appears on the web, is not eligable because it started off as a print comic and is copied on the web. But comics that appear on the web and are copied in print are eligable.

And with the exception of the "Outstanding Newcomer" award, comics can be any any age or length. However, voters should be focusing specifically on a comic's performance during the previous year.

Except for those few requirements, we've pretty much relied on the voters to help us define what's eligable and who they want to reward.

As for being eligable to vote... You just need to be involved in some way with currently presenting a comic on the internet. That can be as a writer, artist, colorist or producer; however only one person can be represented from each comic and every person can only vote once.

Being a recent CG-hosted comic (or pair, really...) starting September '05, do my and Philip's comic(s) count towards the Newcomer category?

I think the fact I/we run two comics complicates thing a bit much, personally. :-/

Yes, that definately qualifies.

And doing two comics actually simplifies things for the two of you registering to vote. Since only one person can represent a comic, you can each represent one of your comics and both be able to participate. (Be sure to mention that when you register).
