*All that stuff about galactic powers not being responsible, yada yada yada....*
Grand Admiral Brash Q. Radigen esq., humble servant of peaceful people's everywhere, promoter of the common good, supporter of orphans starving to super death everywhere, and all around good-natured creature, proposes a solution to the problem perplexing the Great Players of Universal fate.....plus Hollin of Bobep.
The Admiral moves that a vote be taken by whom it may concern (i.e. The great players of Universal fate....MINUS Hollin of Bobep) that would hence forth and for all eternity (plus a little bit longer) solve the question of the true identiy of the G.O.P.Eian organization and it's home planet of Bobep.
All in favor of 'The G.L.' forever being known throughout the Universe as 'The G.O.P.E.', and thier alleged homeworld of 'Chardin' forever being known as 'Bobep' or 'Bobepia' no matter how much they whine or cry, say aye!
All opposed, namely Hollin of Bobep, transmit the space/time coordinates of one of your star's of my choice to the PCR-525 targeting computers aboard R.S.S. Lest you forget, or should you be blind to the fact, you inhabit a multi-dimensional universe. Beware intra-dimensional interference! Beings beyond your scope of knowledge yet live. Perhaps they are just and seek retribution for the murder of orphans or the mind that placed orphans as military protection. Perhaps they are indifferent to your form of life. Perhaps they are of evil intent. Acknowlege their existence and prepare for you know not what.
The being Cygni, speaker for the dimensional rift

um yeah, we here at the Cyrezx Corporation concurr. We uh..support your postion in whatever you wish to do (in light of a potential sale) and uh..we would offer our assistance in this matter, but as Mr. Svienencoff has pointed out, our hardware is obsolete compared to your intergalactic spaceship.
However, if you are interested in purchasing some of our Big Scary Mecha, we have now fired the troublesome empoloyees and have continued in production. We are intreagued at the idea of a PC-525. Last we had were ER Large Lasers... Anyway we at the Cyrezx Corporation have taken into account the risk involved in blowing up a star and well, we obstain from the matter. Have a blast Mr. Radigen
And a nice day.

------------------

The great players of the universal fate.......plus Hollin of Bobep.

The GL demands to know why we are not included in the list of players of the universl fate.
Dear Svienenkoff
Who is this Hollin that you refer to and this Bobep. We have no record of either existing in this galaxy. If you refer to our home planet the name is Chardin. Get it straight you crack fiend, now get your sorry excuse for a side of baccon back into the frying pan.

Through a jagged blue sheath of light piercing from nowhere in the perfect empty blackness of space suddenly emerged four gleaming spheres of a metal yet unknown to the universe. Their flawless roundness and mirror-like surfaces eerily reflected the glimmering blue light. The beings that directed their movement halted them, watching their progress in the physical world and preparing to mold them into the elaborate physical ports, or spacecraft, that would be needed to support the feeble beings that had only a physical manifestation. Each port could be unmade to the devestation of unwary inhabitants if necessary. Prepared now, they waited.

Greetings speaker for the Galactic Republic of Axias.
We acknowledge the motives and actions of the majority of your civilization to be upright and desirable even, granted your limited understanding, commendable.
We can find no similar meaning in our understanding of the term 'horrible'. As for ugly, be assured that you shall not find our physical manifestations undesirable when we so deem to utilize them. We shall do nothing to interfere with the affairs of any rational lower beings that would cause them to react aggressively to our presence.
We appreciate the faith you exhibit by guarding the dimensional rift. Our current intent is of no concern to you; indeed, would likely be beyond your comprehension. We shall merely observe your civilizations for a brief while and our representatives will meet with those you choose to send as an exhibit of peace.
Our physical ports, capable of sustaining life forms familiar to you, will emerge presently with your guarentee of safety. Our beings will manifest themselves onboard after your representatives have arrived. The presence of any military units or weapons will cause the unmaking of the physical ports. In peace-
The being Cygni, speaker for the dimensional rift

Cygni located her interests in physical space and concentrated them. The sphere that was her objective ceased to draw it's constancy from beyond the rift and instead came to pull energy from her to maintain it's physical steadiness. She gently warped it, streching it, hollowing it, smoothing its surface, sharpening its points. Its final form was like a spearhead and still the metal surface reflected the blue light but now in patterns where the metal had been streched and worked without the aid of hands. The inside was made breathable to the fragile beings that would soon occupy it.
Cygni materialized inside this object that relied on her and stood completely still for a moment, feeling the body she now was become her. The disjointedness passed and she was herself but now in the flesh.
"Cygni." The manipulated sound waves lacked the resounance of flesh and blood vocal chords.
"Mar-Tekala, well met," she replied in the greeting of an equal, her own voice as warmly alive as the essence of life. "The beings of this dimension send representatives. Our understanding is that two great civilizations respond. The others are silent."
"And you?"
Cygni replied in lofty obedience, "I wait." Her tone implied that she waited on her own pleasure, not that of her superiors.
"Do you find your physical body... constraining?"
"In a certain sense but satifactorily so. Perhaps constrained in the physical sense allows less constraint in the non physical. My mind, my controls expand. Just as our usual constraint in the non physical allows us greater freedom manipulating the physical."
"Meta-physics dear Cygni?" her rival's voice mocked her. "Kali should have sent someone more objective to be in your position. A being called after a physical object cannot remain unjoined to the physical world."
"Report to Kali my doings," ordered Cygni, tiring quickly of the irritation. "He is interested in the success of finding these beings well met. They send many representatives."
"Do you wish assistance in meeting them?" Tekala asked. Cygni paused, considering.
"No. They find it necessary to send many. Simplicity in being met by one will best represent our civilization. I will be able to manage it easily."
"Do not grow too adapted to your physical body Cygni. Kali will not keep you here long."
"Begone," Cygni sighed.
Alone now she turned, brushing her fingertips against the smooth skin of her arm and feeling the cool touch of the long feathers from her wings against her back. The inside of the craft was near freezing but she paid it no mind; if anything she revelled in the sharp awareness of her physical self that the feeling brought.
There was a mass of rock and metal that entered her consciousness as she thought and she brought up one hand in the empty air of the ship, manipulating space outside of herself and her direct reach, playing with the meteor several hundred light years away. It tumbled end over end. She felt it's natural movement and nudged it around. After a few hours, even such a short time, she tired of her game and with a sudden spurt of violence caused it to explode with a ferocity that it never could have possessed on its own.
[This message has been edited by Cygni (edited 09-20-2001).]

Cygni listened to the gibberish of encoded radio signals for a while before tiring of their nonsense. She instead focused on the ripples of sound waves from the nearby ship where small talk and strategy both abounded in open form. This being Radigen, she was developing an interest in him. Both so like and so unlike what they'd expected to find the physical beings like. Most of the other representatives were still out of range for her to listen to them without extending herself. Their radio signals were easy enough to hear and trace but all encoded. The signals formed patterns which she sometimes watched with other eyes, enjoying their precise and beautiful nature.
She paid almost no mind to the spacecraft now, allowing it to exist off her without her notice. If she was unmade than it was unmade. Her wings were her shield though, and the unsupposed strength in her lithe body. But her life was now as dependent on her physical body as much as those creatures who had no other existence. It worried her not. Her existence was a trifle and it was consolation enough to know that if she died the ship died and the creatures that killed her would be left unprotected in space.
But it would not come to that. And her last desire was to know their deaths.
