Where exactly are all these demons offering power?
I can think of worse things than a small portion of the soul for such power.

If you don't plan, as you do, on dying that is.

So how does losing "a portion of the soul" manifest?
Do you end up being the One-Armed Man of the Afterlife?
Or is it a probability thing, where losing 10% of your soul to the Demons means they have a 10% better chance of getting the whole thing?
--Michael
------------------

I would guess it would be 10% of your total spiritual strength. 10% weaker chi , somewhat shortened life span (if done while alive and not a 'when I die' thing) , and so on. As a spirit after death , you'd be less able to fight off the demon trying to enslave you (You'd be even more down , because he'll be strengthed by the 10%).
But someone who was powerful enough to attract a demon into making such a deal in the first place must have a strong soul , so I bet they'd still be up over most people.
