What do you think about the characters?

A lot of people say that I'm doing a pretty good job with the story and characters and all, but I want to know what you all are getting from them. Am I succeeding in portraying Atrus as the hard-headed, cold-hearted, Mr. Do Things My Way? What about the other characters?<P>I'm very interested in what you all have to say.<P>------------------

Yes, that is a good way to sum up Atrus. ^^ Ranna's so very sweet; she's my favorite. But Anna... I think you're doing a great job with all of them as distinct personalities.<P>~Em

I agree with Emily; Ranna is my favorite too. She is sweet, and she seems by far the wisest of the three. And she has cool hair! <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/biggrin.gif"> And, I don't know, the idea of telepathy has always fascinated me. I think the fetish started when I read the Wayside School books in grade school. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gif"><P>Yep, I think you described Atrus pretty well. He doesn't seem <I>entirely</I> cold-hearted though, I think he sometimes tries to use coldness to cover up what he's really feeling, like with Jerek's death. It'd be interesting to see how he deals with other losses.<P>Anna reminds me of someone. I can't think of who. Probably a mixture of people. Something tells me she wasn't treated too kindly in the past, that'd probably be why she's the only person she gives a darn about. Not necessarily abuse or anything, just enough to make her decide other people aren't worth worrying about.<P>Hehe, that's probably more deep, thought-filled interpretation than you were asking for. I've been spending <I>way</I> too much time in English class.
