Unless in this context it's being used in some bizarre meaning I'm not familiar with, the slang usage being used here is one of top, frequently with additional associations of masculinity, domination (both in and out of bed), and activity (as opposed to passivity). There are some more peripheral associations as well, such as being older, taller, more mature, or more manly-looking. (The non-slang usage comes from certain martial arts, and means "active partner" or "performer of the technique". Its opposite is uke, which in a martial arts context means the one who receives the technique/falls, and in this slang context means someone who is bottom, submissive, feminine, passive, or some combination of those. To the best of my knowlege, the Japanese don't have a specific term for zoophilia/beast stuff...
