I went to the dentist today. I had to have two of my teeth drilled. On of them required painkillers before operating. Currently, yhe right side of my lips doesn't have feeling, and I have to watch out not biting it. The drilling without sedation wasn't that bad, it stung, off course, but only for a while. I can see why the dentist scares the shit out of some people. I try to be more rational about my fears.
Also, my right bottow wisdon tooth is 90 dergees crooked, the root shoots out to the back, go figure.
Anywway, how much did I have to pay for having two of my teeth worked with, sedation included?
45€. That's about 50$US. Humour me, and tell me, approximately how much would it have cost me in Americaland?

I need to have two huge holes filled
my front teeth are cracked where they touch in the back
and I've got two other little holes to fill
as well as the enamel on the bottom of my molars is starting to get eaten away
all of this shit happened within like 2 weeks at the end of the term during project week...
I still need to get those big holes fixed
oh
and it'll cost about 1600+ CAD I guess
oh yeah
one of those holes is from a filling falling out

I had to get four teeth drilled and filled... completely healthy on the outside, but since I apparently have thin enamel, bacteria were wreaking havok inside... the first two were covered by private insurance, the other two cost me about $200 CDN, the dentist removed one of the charges when he found out that it wasn't covered.
It surprises me how much cheaper some things are here... 3 months of birth control pills for 5 Euros.... amazing.

Due to the power of Really Good Insurance, two fillings, with sedation, including ceramic fillings (if visible, as opposed to silver amalgam), would cost me exactly $0.
20 years ago, also due to having good insurance, having all four wisdom teeth extracted, including one surgical extraction because the tooth was coming in sideways and was impacted on the molar in front, $50, plus about $500 for a root canal and crown.

I thank my lucky stars I only ever get gingivitis. I intake so much calcium my teeth are hard as diamonds. Of course, dad needing dentures due to lack of calcium as a kid (his mother didn't mix the powdered milk very well) is a good incentive to take good care of my teeth.

I had to have two wisdom teeth out a while ago. It was covered by my insurance, I'm glad to say.
Neither tooth had broken the skin. -_-
One had grown so twisted, it was like a spiral. It has to be broken into pieces before they could get it out. -_-
The easy one, they had to drill a hole through before they could get the leverage to yank it. -_- ... I hope I never need dental surgery again for as long as I live, but I know that is one hope that will not be realized.
