Just to let everyone know, the IRC channel is alive, and actually showing signs of life after years of neglect...Cum one, cum all. Here is something Xero wrote recently that should help newcomers get on if they feel like trying:
get mirc here
in the mirc directory once its installed and run them
once you got that going
run mirc and fill in its info that it asks for
and now the good bit
getting into the channel to talk
server: irc.sorcery.net
command to join server: /s irc.sorcery.net
channel: #ghastlycomic
command to join: /j #ghastlycomic <- must be done after joining the server
