The content of the following site is rather tame compared to GGC fare, so if you're reading this forum then you have nothing to fear.

What I don't get, is why Piro gets so up in arms about hentai. I imagine he gets about 1 e-mail every 10 seconds requesting he draw Largo-Piro yaoi or whatnot, but big fucking deal.

Seriously, that man needs to pull the stick out and live a little.

Maybe he's a bit worried what his wife would think? But I'm pretty sure she's udnerstanding about that kind of thing.

Besides, don't artists have the drawing of nude models as part of their training? ;)

I think he enjoys the stick.

Seriously... I know next to nothing about the specific situation, but I think I recall G saying that someone said that Fred said if anyone ever yaoi'd the two principal characters, he'd quit?

So... If I -had- to make a snap diagnosis based on the following:
  • Artistic type
  • Draws "Sad girl in snow" types images, and other images that tend toward a very specifically stylized view of femininity
  • Draws a comic about two young male heterosexual lifemates
  • Reacts with rage and pique out of all reasonable proportion to the very idea of fan-art depicting those characters as homosexual lovers
As I said... If I -had- to make a snap diagnosis, I wouldn't hesitate long before saying your subject is probably wrestling with some pretty severely repressed homosexual tendancies, and/or possible gender disphoric emotional troubles. Both the Piro character in specific and the "sad girl" in general could point toward someone with a choked sense of disporportionate femininity.

But... You know... I really don't know anything about homos or homosexuality or homosexual culture. Or gender issues.

Yeah, perfect time to post this here... I'll go back in my corner now

Other than that I agree with Honor, sounds like he's a Closet case to me. I personally would be flattered beyond recognition if fans of my webcomic decided to draw hentai, especially if it wasn't a Hentai Comic to begin with. Even if it was Homoerotic or otherwise, because that'd be enough to say to me that they really like my comic. Hell I'm halfway tempted to start that idea I was telling HC about just so I can get hentai drawn of it XD

Though I cannot remember the source, my understanding is that Ghastly's first comic involving Piro and Largo and sex did in fact make someone quite mad... Largo. My understanding was that Piro/Fred didn't particularly care, or at least didn't show it. As for the threat to stop drawing, I thought that was if hentai of the girls popped up.

I will agree that it'd be best for all concerned if he stopped worrying about that, though. (It'd be even better if he put MT into CC, but I don't forsee that happening.) There are bigger things in life to worry about. Of course, whether or not he can see that is a question I do not have the answer to.

see, i always thgouht that he said that purely as a means of trying to put a stop to the rabid requests for HIM to do it.

Actually, all the things I've seen from him being against erotica of his characters has mainly been against the girls, not his and Rodney's avatars.

Generally, though, it's not that he's against porn. What he's against is drawing or having porn of THESE characters... There is a certain ammount of respect and affection for the creations of an artist... I always assumed that he didn't want erotic content of them to be spread around because it would be disrespectful to the characters(as he sees it). Now, whether that is hypocritical or condescending, I can't comment, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The only characters from the set that are actually what I would qualify as "erotic" are not his original charactes (Ruri, Lain, Nuku). The One with the thick bangs and freckles I don't recognise, but she's just in her underwear(in a very cold room). The one in the skirt is Kotone from Sight, his "Game within the Manga" that Kimiko is voicing(though it may be the girl from Warmpth... not positive), and you just see her panties. Granted, the bottom one looks just a touch like Erica, however, I can chalk that up to these being 5 or 6 years old and him not being exactly as skilled as he is now... (which is a nice way of saying alot of his early stuff looks identical except for the hairstyles).

Honestly, I can understand that he isn't interested in doing this sort of material anymore, at least not on a large scale, and he dosn't want to to interfere with his future and career, hence the pen name and the subsequent coverup. I don't blame him a bit for not wanting to advertise this.

Jesus f'in Mary and Joseph! I wake up bleary-eyed and jet lagged only to discover that THE GOGGLES, THEY DO NOTHING! Shopped or not that is one disturbing image.

As for the Blurred thing. I'd heard about it before on Comixpedia. Seems like so much fuss over so few drawings. I guess it proves that once you post it on the internet it never truly dies.

Wow... there's a lot of immortal cock and boobies out there.

Just imagine how old some of the people are in those pictures now... XD I have some really grainy pictures that look like they're from 1960, the people must be 80 by now or something. :P

Late, but I must say, thank you for finding that. I wondered, but gave up in despair after a day or two.
