This happened in a town about 30 minutes north of where i live. Until about a month ago i even worked in that city.

Glad i changed jobs when i did, the whole place is prlly crawling w/ zombies and all other kinds of undead by now.

now if i could just find a way to summon Tentacle Monsters and force them to do my bidding by writting stories about them i would be good to go :D

I weep... I really do.

The amount of money spent to jail a highschool kid for writing fiction, all out of the tax payers pockets, all in the name of Homeland Security.

Lets just hope this is a classic Register prank.

sorry squid, no prank.

I first read about it today in my local news paper and checked it out online to see if i could find out more.

Sad, very sad.

and while I and every other tax payer in my state is paying for this, real criminals who are doing real crimes that hurt real people (as opposed to the fake kind) are slipping threw cracks in the justice system and allowed to go free, while in an interveiw with one of the cops or detectives or something or other, said something to the effect of (and i may be a little off here) "with the school shootings and everything that has happened i don't want the blood of an innocent child on my hands because i didn't take action."

IMHO I wish the cops would just take care of the robbers and murderers and rapeist and stuff.

I think i can handle the zombies on my own thank you very much.

I think I saw this on FARK.com a few weeks ago. But, of course, I'm too lazy to go look for it....

Backtracked the links to the Lexington paper...
Even so, police say the nature of the story makes it a felony. "Anytime you make any threat or possess matter involving a school or function it's a felony in the state of Kentucky," said Winchester Police detective Steven Caudill.
So Buffy fan-fics would be a felony in Kentucky? BWhAhahahahHAHAhaha.

oh-kay.....
....
....
I have to agree. Charging someone for something so obviousely fiction.... The only reason it could be possible considered a real threat was if the story involved sacrifice of someone at the school...........

aaah, but maybe the goverment and the police know something that we don't know: that there are real zombie's out there and there going for our schools...............

But seriuosly how stupid do you have to be to inprison a teenager who likes to write fiction????????

no wait, these guys maybe stupid enough:

Apparently the school in his story remained without a name, and one one from his school, any other school or anyone from Winchester were mentioned. Other than at one point he did say something about 'section 2' which freaked some people out because clark county (where this is happening at) is refered to as 'section 2' on some type of map or another.

The are also saying that the kid has ties to some kind of militant groups and even tried to form his own 'army' of some kind.

At least thats what our local paper says.

ok showing my blondness here.

why is he arrested? did he send the "fiction" to the school as a threat? how did his story get attention from people? i mean if i (as i do) write a story at home then no one will read it. unless i publish it, which i hope to do some day.

more info please?

His grandparents (i think) found it, read it, and called the cops on him.

sucks to be him.
