Somewhere around 100K people check in each week or so. It's impossible to get an exact number in terms of readership. I stopped checking my numbers once I broke 10K unique visits a day. Some people check in more than once a week even though they know I only update once every sunday. Some people only check in 4 times a year so they can go through the backlogue and read a whole bunch of strips at once.

I get a whole lot of people who tell me they only read my strip once a month because they like to read a bunch of strips together instead of only one a week, but they don't like to go more than 4 weeks or so without reading my comic. This is very common with weekly comics and even tri-weekly comics.

"Our Home Planet" I read once every two or three months because it's a story but only updates once a week. At that pace it's too slow to read only once a week so I save them up and read them in bunches.

"Errant Story" I read on the day it publishes because it's just too damned good not to.

"Megatokyo" I read only once a month o so because it moves too slowly to read as it publishes and 50% of the comic seems to be filler anyways.

"Sluggy Freelance" I read everyday except Saturday because I can't freaking stand that "Dimension of Crap" comic.

"Sexy Losers" I read whenever Clay tells me to read it (ie. when it updates).

...At least he manages a weekly update. One of my favorite comic artists Akai Neko of Carrots & Cheese updates when she feels like it. This is the result of lazybitchitis...

Let's only hope Ghastly doesn't come down with that.....Please don't. Where would I go??! I want to live!

Well I don't know if Clay has been doing his job but there's been an update over new year for Sexy Losers. Everyone should go and read this comic. Now. Just don't forget to come back to Ghastly. :)

Supped up the beer just like an hoover - as usual
Australian wine and paint remover - as usual
Somewhere deep inside my brain, I think I hear a diesel train
I swear I'II never drink again - as usual

A song with many variations...

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't australia's alcohol supposed to sneak up on you, all stealthy like, and then hit you with a doseage of Instant Oblivion(TM)?

Not like Jack Daniels...which basically punches you in the face and then proceeds to take a dump in your shoes. At least that's the impression I've been given. I'm a BAWLS man meself. Screw alcohol, I NEED MY CAFFIENE FIX MAN!

I've made a name for myself by taking this route.

That name is "Mr. I Dont Visit Your Site"

Think of it this way. If Ghastly (god forbid) were not to update for say a month...wouldn't you still come back at the month's end? Just because an artist chooses not to update, doesn't mean that you should abandon the comic alltogether.

Truthfully, I only vist cuz Ghastly is a sexy bitch.

But you're right. I'm always shocked that people come back to my comic even after I've fucked-off on it for months at a time(Like I am now)... and that they've been anticipating it.

Freaks me out sometimes.

He's a sexy bitch, AND Canadian!

As long as something changes once in a while, even if it's an excuse-of-the-day or a forum post, I'll keep checking back. It's a lot like a long-term relationship; either it's really good and can survive the hurdle, or people have put too much into it (followed it for years, know all the characters' vital statistics, etc.) to just drop it. I'm teetering on the edge with RPG World right now. It's become irritatingly erratic, but I've followed the story the whole way and want to see it finish up as it's coming to the end of the story arc.

The bookmark webtool I use orders bookmarks by usage, so the daily comics end up on top, weekly ones below that, and so on. It help me remember when to check up on them.
