hmm.. my first porn.... way earlier than i'd have ever sought it, first sought it around 15 or so.... and pretty mcuh fall into a category of obsessed with D/s, bondage, rubber, and of course, tentaclation ^_^ although i also am endlessly seeking new stuff, too.
i tend to prefer hentai rather than porn, namely since hentai you can have the cahracters posed perfectly, without knowing they're being posed, since one is creating them from scratch. i've never seen a good porn photo where the person didn't in some way betray the knowledge that they're being photoed.
on the issue of children.. honestly i think that most of the damage comes from the fact that it's viewed as wrong, rather than an inherent wrongness in the thing itself. that said, society prolly isn't likely to stop viewing it as wrong, and until it does, it's a horrid thing to do to a child, ecause it will damage them, even if in the "Brave New World" hunt the zipper is a perfectly normal and healthy game.
governments.... by and large they suck, but they do a better job on the whole than their abscence.

This kind of topic always remind me that I've been collection Bishoujo game pics since '96(which would have made me 15/16) which was kind of cause by AniManga H section before they made ForbiddenSubjects(which is dead). Ofcourse I only went there from a link from Ryo-ohki's Carrot Dreamland, but that would be my first H matterial incounter unless you count the fact that I'd been drawing the stuff for about 3 years before hand. I still have no interest in porn, but yah. Anyway I always thought it would be intersing to just get some one age 13-17 who could draw to selfpublish their own H-comic now that'd be funny. They can draw it they can sell it, but it's illegal for them to look at it. Some time laws are just so screwed up. I've always thought whats the point of trying to prevent me from looking at such stuff, I could already draw it so what would be the point. I mean I'd just draw it insted.

I've been checking out porn since first finding my dad's dirty magazines when I was in 3rd grade (though I will admit to being a bit confused about things for the first couple years). I've been online tracking down random perversions since my senior year in high school (just over 9 years ago now -- time flies when you're hunting prOn)
Movies never really held any interest for me, as most of them come off as contrived/silly rather than erotic, same with many of the posed pics (as mentioned above). For the past few years, I've preferred hentai/anime/manga and stories, as they can be a bit more creative than a few people making funny faces trying to seduce a camera. Plus no worries about legality (with enough uptight overzealous blamemongers out there, one can never be too careful when it comes to something anyone could interpret as "questionable" content)
Through my many and varied clandestine travels hunting the dark passages of the internet, I have encountered many an odd phenomenon of eroticism, some more silly or disturbing than erotic in my mind, but to each their own. Many of which have been satirized by Ghastly here. One thing that absolutely does not work for me is violence of any kind, there's far too much angry powertripping in my country's political system and elsewhere that the last place I want to be thinking about it is when I'm settling in for a bit of "personal time"
(nothing against your comic, Ghastly. I find it much more humorous than not, as I'm sure your intent is. Urotsokidoji it is not, and for that I am glad.)

What you are? Oh Kei find the entire Iku Iku Pakkun series gallery.
...
Oh Kei I know I always say that, but no ones done it yet. It's not like it wasn't all over the internet 6years ago, so it did exist commonly at one point.

I was raised with no censorship at all with regards to sex. My introduction to pr0n was probably when I watched the animated movie Heavy Metal. I was five or six. When I discovered my 16-year-old brother's Playboys I knew exactly what I was looking at and why. I was the kid in the second grade who told all his friends what sex is really all about, and I never thought girls were icky.
Was I warped? Yeah, but it beats the hell out of the alternative. My education was not complete, though until I met my match: Maggie. This girl's initial concept of sex was formed by watching Urotsukidoji in the first grade. From her I learned many things. Many things indeed.
Kids who watch pornos grow up being better in bed. People who have good sex are less cranky. Happy people are less likely to kill each other. Put porn in the grade school curricula! The world needs more orgasms!

Hmmm well. I watched my first porn movie when I was seven, and understood sex. When I was raped at eight by my best friend, I understood that too, even understood it wasn't my fault until my family found out and started blaming me. At 11 we got a computer and internet, and I was a frequenter of Yahoo Older teen chats (gosh lying and saying I was 16 was so much fun at that time). Thirteen I started writing softcore and hardcore erotic novel, a few of them are still floating around on some adult sites. I like men, always have, evne when I was little I wasn't much for other girls (might have a wee bit to do with my childhood). Of course I'm still into bondage, s&m, threeways and tenticals... Ashamed of my old writing and getting better (at least imho).
I had sex for the first time not long after I turned 16, a month, a few threatened cutting of things, I broke up with him and got together with my current boy who I'm happy with still (almost two years).
Porn didn't screw me up, my parents did that all on their own, porn, believe it or not, and the knowledge of sex was one of the things that kept me from having sex when i was younger, unlike the rest of my classmates. *shrugs* it's not what you know, it's what your taught to believe about what you know. Other than that, good porn rocks, even lesbian porn.

Fadedflame, your comments bring up an interesting question, considering that it's more or less taken as gospel (at least by legislators), that any exposure to pornography is, and by its very nature can only be, harmful to minors. Yet, and I hope I have not misinterpreted what you have said, you seem to show some evidence that that is not necessarily the case.
One problem, however, is that given the nature of the claims, any study to establish their veracity could bring up ethical problems. It may only be by anecdotal evidence, such as that which you have provided, that we may be able to consider alternate possibilities.
Many of the comments in this thread could be anecdotal evidence against that belief, but those that espouse it may downplay such comments as coming from we, the "damaged goods" as it were. Gotta love those self-reinforcing memes, don'tcha?
"X is harmful to Y, and any Y that claims otherwise is doing so only because they were harmed by X into thinking otherwise."

I don't think any of us represent a good sample.
All of us have looked at porn, we're all involved in what could be considered a "harmful fetish", and yet it seems we all are enjoying the shit out of our perversion....
I say, fuck 'em. If I wanna watch the honor of Japanese girl's innocence being violated in every hole by a raging tentacle beast, then I'm gonna watch it, legal or not.

Toawa- Yeah, what I saying is that the porn and exposer to sex wasn't what messed me up, all that did was enlighten me.
However, it's the type of people who say is bad or wrong that do screw people up if they see it when they are young. My parents never knew that i watched/wrote porn, so I never had bad experiences. Just like with my rape, if nobody had found out, or even if they had and had just been understanding instead of blaming me, I would have recovered alot better then I have.
On another note, harmful is all in the eye of the beholder. I see nothing harmful with say, being tied down and whipped, as long as both people are consenting to it. But I would if they weren't consenting and were being forced to do it.
