BBS memories

I never visited any of the community parties for BBS's, but there were about 6 here in Florida that I religiously dialed into daily. Of course, being a gamer, I was mostly interested in L.O.R.D and a few other games. One I wish I could find, but seems to be erased from existance was titled (I think) "Wastelands". It was post-apocolyptic, and I'm pretty sure ANSII based (as most BBS games of the time). I really liked finding the boom box on the radiated cheer leaders. Could turn set them to either help you hide from random encounters, or just crank them up and fight anything that got too close. It also had the ability to create forts in the wilderness, and power them up. There were even hidden files you could upload into your laptop computer. One was Tetris (worth about 1000 xp), and another one, my favorite one, went a little something like this . . .
You finish installing the program, and your laptop reboots.
You wait . . .
and wait . . .
and wait . . .
Finally a screen appears, and you recognize this program as the fabled "Windows". As you delete it, you recall that this is the very program that caused the person guarding The Button to go crazy and start the nuclear holicauste.
Wow. Remembering this has suddenly reminded me of other similar games, such as ARROW, which was also a wander the countryside game. But this one you could become the king of the castles in the area, and even hire tax collectors. ^^ . . .
I think I've gone down memory lane long enough for now. I saw the foot note on today's comic, and just had to post. Ghastly, you are a GENIOUS! I check your page ever day, even though I know it doesn't update that often. I definately have enjoyed several of your strips, and am kind of wondering whatever happened to . . . I think this is the right comic strip . . . Wizard Guy and Cathulu.
Hello everyone! Nice to meet you all!
