As far as what Ghastly said about owning child-like sex dolls...

I'm all for the existing. And before you all SHOOT me, let me say that it's very hard for pedophiles to be who they are because of the very nature of their paraphilia.
I mean, really. They can't act it out in real life-- that's illegal (and should be!), but we gotta leave 'em with SOMETHING.

I think I just went off on a tangent that no one meant this coversation to go down, but I just needed to express my (twisted) opinion.

wow

That's the first "Throw Pedophiles a bone" post I've EVER seen on a message board. Course, I'm probably on all the wrong boards..

Anyway.. Last I checked, Lolicon was still alive and well in Japan, throwing bones left, right, and center to all those wishing to indulge their young lust.

That and the Jr. High call girls who love giving tall gaijin their pager numbers.

I think the best explanation for why this is, is encapsulated in this series of lines from Black Adder, season 1, episode 5, when Edmund is being tried as a witch:
Person: Who will defend the accused?
(Percy stands up, looking proud.)
Person (cont'd): And thus condemn himself to certain burning at the stake as a partner in Satan if the accused is found guilty?
(Percy sits down, tries to look busy.)
There are some topics in this culture, in which any response deviating from immedeate, rote, scathing condemnation, or, in other cases, unceasing blind support, is looked upon with immedeate suspicion that the "supporter" is in fact guilty of the same thoughts or conduct, or vice versa with the "detractor".

It's in the same vein as that one Seinfeld episode, in which any reference to being gay is followed immedeatly by "not that there's anything wrong with that." It came at a time when people putting forward overtly homophobic views (at least in popular culture TV) was viewed with suspician. This is an interesting contrast with behavior that came just a few years before, where it was the exact opposite: Anyone seen to be giving any sympathy to homosexuals was immedeatly suspected of being homosexuals themselves. Same with communists in the 50's. Same with 'witches' in America in the 1700's.

I've always found the idea that there are certain topics which one cannot even bring up to conversation with immedeatly being labeled a 'sympathizer', or worse, a 'participant' in those topics, to be extremly troubling. One of my pet peeves is when people, who are trying to make an argument for some position, feel the need to have to immedeatly precede or follow their argument with, "Not that I support <enter culturally unacceptable action>. Anyone who engages in such action should be hung by their gonads from the highest tree in the land." The most common example I see is probably, "I don't think pornography should be illegal, but of course child pornographers should be disembowled with rusty razors."

And, though it pains me to do so, and I fear makes me quite the hypocrite, I will now point out:
Please don't try to use this post in an attempt to pin my political/social/cultural/physical/mental/other-al leanings. I assure you you'll get it wrong.

Yes, this is indeed a slippery slope.

It's like bringing up necrophilia at a funeral. Sure, everyone's thinking about it, but who's got the guts to stand up and say "Damn, she's even hotter dead!"

Of course that reminds me of a line from Ranma 1/3
Mr. Saotome: "I had a great time with Dave last night."
Mr. Tendo: "Dave? But Dave's dead!"
Mr. Saotome: "So? I didn't hear him complaining."
Mr. Tendo: "How was he anyway?"
Mr. Saotome: "You know, same as always"
Here we are again, in agreement.

Hell, there were even people at A-kon who were reluctant to even think about the idea of the tentacle porn I was offering, and I got more than one "not that there is anything wrong with that you dirty, perverted little freak."

Oh, the lack of acceptance for those with paraphilia. It makes me want to cry but at the same time makes me want to deliberately freak out the most conservative people, laughing all the way.

Oh, and I promise if I ever do so, I'll report here.

For targets of greatest oppertunity for your little freaking out scheme, might I suggest:

A) The Rebuplican National Convention
B) The Cracker Barrel Resturant after 11pm on Sundays
C) The State of Utah

Extra points if you can get a seven year old to run up to you in public and say "I'm all out of latex and I just can't finish without it!"

Choose your battles wisely.

Remember, in some cases, it's not just disgust you're fighting. It's sense of genetic survival (defense of progeny), which is a hell of a lot stronger. This is easily exploited by Those Who Would See You Defeated.

::Might be getting a little strange. This happens occasionally; please do not be alarmed::

I myself stay low, and focus my attention on a certain organization Who Shall Not Be Named, but is responsible for a certain Atrocity Of a Movie, amoung other things.

before I'll even consider buying one.

I gotta know. What piece of Hollywood tripe was so bad that you have reserved for your own personal wrath.

I, Robot?
Spiderman 2

or perhaps the company who roughly spread their little puppet cheeks, and is busy raping the wooden bungs of
The Thunderbirds

For security reasons, I cannot say (ok, I just like cloak and dagger.. it'll take more than that to get it out of me!) but it's not a recent movie; it came out in 2000, and was roundly pronounced the worst movie of the year. Favorite reviewer quote (from memory; might not be exactly right):

"Sometimes fate smiles upon the humble reviewer; in my case, this came in the form of a power outage halfway through the movie."

Edit: Give me RealDoll's patents, and my star portfolio item up to about $300 a share, and I'll gladly produce one for you.

Oh, I also found a pic a few months back of one of those child real dolls. She was american looking complete with a girlscout camp patch. Most wrong thing I've seen in quite some time.

It depends where you put the stick -- or who says you can't use more than one? ;)

That kind of what I'm saying...
http://park10.wakwak.com/~onoe-clp/imag ... EMIPH2.JPG
I think id be cool to have one if only i'd look as close to the character designs as the model in the link above(Note: I've chosen a Remi figurine just for referance, Remi alway's scares me and I don't mean with the bow she's just naturaly scarey) But personal I'd have to get one of my own characters now that'd be sweet, I mean a big posable life size model of you own character, who cares if it was saposed to be a sex doll, anatomicly correct just makes it better.

Ahh, Battlefield Earth.

Yes. God damn that was a horrible, horrible, horrible... but we all know that already.

I'm guessing that you're familiar with Operation: Clambake?

Not to worry though, I doubt Travolta will ever get his own RealDoll

Naturally.

And so I would presume that you understand the cloak and dagger bit. Following this kinda thing kinda leads to it.

But it did lead to this funny sequence (from memory):

Master Shake: Guard my Battlefield Earth cups! They'll be worth a fortune one day!
Meatwad (to Frylock): You're right; he's dumb as hell.

::goes searching for script:: Bloody hell! Ok, there's a porn website guy whom I'm now gonna have to whack upside the head with some sort of spiky club thing... I realize that the show's target audience is adults but that's no reason to use it in porn advertising. It's this kind of crap that makes it look like the Internet is trying to Corrupt Young Minds to those inclined to believe so. I mean, OK, the first time I googled I didn't use quotes, and so "teen" was in there alone; I can see where that could cause a few hits. But these sites are using the entire damn show title!

Eh.. I'm of the opinion that this is the sort of thing that only gets to you if you let it. Of course it was that group of rich deluded clams who got the absolute best and most secure annon. remailer scrubbed from the net, damn their scaley hides.

Of course, I don't go out of my way to get in theirs. Now, the minute they take a stand against tentacle porn...

Nah, I just like cloak and dagger.

They really aren't even doing much in my area; they keep a low profile. Even if they did move their A.S. HQ to my fair city. (Location hint! Location hint! ;))

Now, at my University, during the last year or so, they'd be constantly plastering the bulletin boards spread around the campus with oodles of those stupid personality tests, but the envelopes would quickly find themselves emptied into a nearby trash/recycling bin, so no worries. You'd see empty half-envelopes all over the place with the words "Free Take One" on them. Then people decided to start using them for other things, so they provided us with free flyer holders. :)

Just on a lark I looked up the realdoll patent. "Realistic female mannequin functionally usable by the human male". Who says romance is dead?

The appliation artwork is about as sexy as the Bionic Woman's autopsey, though.
