But yeah, I asume that chobits don't actually feel pain, but simulate the shock and fear that comes with it. Huh...actually, one could get into a huge debate on the whole topic, but...meh...

I don't get it.... If you hate it so much, why do you watch it?

I just ignore television most of the time. It's the new Opiate for the Masses.

The only thing I watch on TV is some Sci Fi shows and scientific stuff like History Channel and Discovery. But I would never waste my precious and limited lifetime sitting through some of the lowest programming designed for the consumption of the herd.

I don't watch it. Never said I did, did I? I just watch other shows run by the same network, then saw their advertisements for this monstrosity.

The shock would probably mess up their systems, still. And to quote a certain giant robot in a comic I used to love: "I can tell when parts of me don't work or are malfunctioning. That could be translated as 'pain', I suppose." Imagine that your whole brain worked based on logic and routines. Then imagine something is not working according to expectations or logic. Sounds pretty destabilising and painful to me ... ^^;
