Thanks for the well wishes. The surgeon said that he didn't feel a hernia, and that he thinks I may have just pulled/torn a muscle in the area. He said come back in 3 weeks if I am still in pain. If it's a hernia it's small which can be more painful.

that's always an improvement

No noticible bulge, which is part of why he said he doesn't think it's a hernia. as he explained on the pain tghing if it is a hernia. if its large, things move back and forth freely, whereas if its small it moves one way and pinches or gets stuck.
