In the Graphic novels Category:
"Heavy Liquid" and "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns"

In the Other Category:
Programming in C: A complete introduction to the C programming language
This is because I had to return the other C book v.v and my programming class appears to have failed me... we're using some thing called Alice which make programing more friendly, according to their propaganda video on their website.

I took a look at the website for that Alice thing (I think I found the right one - http://www.alice.org?). If you're interested in learning C you're probably well beyond the target audience since Alice is supposed to suck you in so that you want to learn things like C. It does look like you can drop modules written in C or Java into the middle of it to do things as well.

PM me if you want some tips and maybe some email tutoring. I wrote my first C code back in 1983 so I've learned a few tricks along the way :-).

And what am I reading....I was going back through the Worldwar series by Harry Turtledove. I think I need to go buy some new books...

Yup that's Alice.
Apparently one of the reasons why they decided to use Alice is that the majority of the people who take the section I'm in are design majors. So it makes some sense that they would go with a program where you can see the results right away.

Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on it.

Putaro - any recommended coding environment for C++?

Currently reading "The beginnings of Rome by TJ Cornell".
Even an ignorant, paranoid, cowardly, ugly, corrupt, unsociable, aristocratic thug can conquer large parts of the world, kill thousands of people and be celebrated as the saviour of the Republic.

Hmmm...Personally I'm not a real big C++ fan. I actually do most of my work in Java these days with a bit of C and Objective C now and then. If you're on Windows, Visual C++ is pretty much it, isn't it? The Mac is basically Xcode. If you're on Linux/Unix Eclipse has a C++ environment now or you can become an Emacs power user. I usually just use vi myself but I haven't done serious Unix development in C/C++ since about 1994 when the only real environments were vi/shell and Emacs and I've always hated Emacs.

I fucking love vi, emacs and nano just seem... castrated to me
oh well

and yeah, (visual)C++ is pretty much standard on windows, they're trying to push it ever more than .net3 is out, and .net3.5 is now in beta

"Mighty Good Road" by Melissa Scott.
This webcomic, seen here is hosted on the free web host Comic Genesis which pretty much proves its not popular.

OK, since we're talking about what we're reading I had to pull something out of the library that I'm not embarrassed to admit I'm reading.
