given that I almost always know what to say, and that I've buried... plenty of people myself... mother, father, a brother, all my grandparents but one... far too many friends...
...it's odd and uncomfortable to me that I never know what to say when someone dies.
The guilt over not posting something in my LJ and on my SCA site about a friends recent death makes still me feel guilty... not posting "emo" remembrances on father's day and mothers day makes me feel inhuman and cold.
The death of someone close to me, or of someone close to someone who is, sends me into a silence of introspection. The sympathy of knowing all too well what I'd feel like in your place, and the doubt... Over whether anything I feel is 'normal' and thus felt by anyone else, anyway.
I almost always end up choosing to spare those I care about the thoughts about celebrating the life of our lost loved ones, thinking of all the good times, savoring life itself... You know all those things, and dwelling on them is only a sideways reference to mortality at a time when mortality is at the forefront of your thoughts as it is.
My heart is heavy when I think of your spirits dampened and your smile displaced.
The great weakness of a truly dominant personality - one who possesses the anachronistic and unpopular traits of nobility, leadership, and benevolent intention - is that we feel so utterly and completely useless when we recognize pain and suffering and can do nothing to fix it.

*hugs everyone in this thread*
I felt we needed it.
I also want to apologize for being a black, moody, lass lately. Things haven't been good, but of course that means they will get better.
*goes to hug everyone again, but goes for the grope instead*
Now, where are those penguins when you need them...

I don't think that's necessary. It's perfectly understandable, considering the circumstances, and everyone needs to feel that way at some point, besides. I can't think of many places that would be more accommodating to that than this forum.Lulujayne wrote:I also want to apologize for being a black, moody, lass lately.
Edit: Crap, I forgot.

This forum proves that people with a fascination for tentacle rape monsters come from a huge variety of backgrounds and educational levels ... because as a white, High School pullout, trucker's kid you all and your big ass words completely lose me most of the time, hence why I do not reply most of the time!

Daisy, Daisy, wouldn't you like to screw?
I really must beg your PAR-don, for I have a raging HAR-don,
From beating my meat,
Against the seat,
Of a bicycle built for two! :3
