So, I'm looking into buying my first strap-on. Just wondering if you, the experts whom I love so very much, could give me any tips on what to look for. Things like material, price ranges (CND, if possible), etc.

What I'm thinking would be some fun is if I wore it under tight-ish pants/shorts or a skirt so there's an obvious phallic shape. And, of course, the intended use, if such an oppurtunity should arise. *crosses fingers and winks at Honor* I'm also thinking of cosplaying as Freddy, but that's only a thought, no solid decision as of yet.

You're in Toronto or thereabouts, right? I would try Come As You Are ( http://www.comeasyouare.com ) and see what they've got in stock. I ordered mine (which, irritatingly, hasn't arrived yet) from Babeland in the States, since CAYA was out of the one I wanted.

i'd say the only warning is that many that i've seen are definately in the realm of attatchment size that when just a dildo are meant more as coffee table ornaments, so in short, (and probably blatantly obviously) don't get anything bigger than you've enjoyed using on yourself before.

rubber panties as the base with the material going between the inner and outer prongs will suffice for mild play, if one only electrifies one, the other shouldn't get more than a tingle at low charges. but by and large, i can't imagine why one would be attempting somethign regarding electrical play if the desire to try it wasn't at least mutual.

Aren't all artificial phalluses erect, making it impossible to wear under clothing? Seems like what you want is one that can switch between flaccid and erect, if such things exist.

When working at AVN, I got a chance to review a number of harnesses for strap-ons.

The most impressive one I came across (no pun intended) was one made out of patent leather. The dye from real leather can stain dildos, and the patent leather was easier to clean.

For the dildo, rubber cock is ok (hi Kwerki), but silicone is the bomb. Avoid the weird, pourous pseudoskins (they have a number of trademarked names).

Water based lube is amongst the best, I like astroglide. Avoid using silicone-based lubes (eros, platinum, milenium, velvet) with silicone dildos.

Alright, to answer the questions:

1) Yes, I was thinking of getting one that is plyable, to wear under clothing, not a hard erect one.
2) I'm looking for one that could be used on someone else, not a double-ended one. Though if a special lady comes along, I'll prolly get us a double-ended one.

I bought my harness from Stormy Leather, who make a variety of 'em. After some thought, I picked the Texas Two-strap. That's actually a link to the PVC version, since you can see how the straps work better in that photo. For wearing under clothes, I might consider the Stormy Harness because of the sleeker profile, but I'm not sure it'd hold the dildo secure enough for serious action. The Terra Firma gets good reviews for those who like a very firm/stiff anchor point. I've never used or seen used the Crown Harness, though it looks like it'd have the most secure strapping of all.

Take a look at Lickety Split. Oh my.

Double-ended dildos tend to be...well, the ones that are bent in the middle work much better. Otherwise, the two of you end up working from kind of awkward (ha) angles.

Ehn. I always thought the flexible ones were floppy. Not quite as bad as a half-hard cock, but not very good, either. The silicone dildos are good because they have some flex, but they're not floppy. And the V or L shaped double-ended ones seem to work best.
