B grade sci-fi returns!

Woohoo! Went to see 'Evolution' last night with daenjel...I must say, tacky as the movie was, I haven't laughed at such sillyness in a movie for ages! <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/biggrin.gif">It kinda reminded me of Gremlins...there were several cute lil aliens in the movie, but they all morphed as the movie went on..And as for the acting, well hmmm...was so bad, you had to feel sorry for the aliens by the end of the movie <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gif">

I never considered Men in Tights as b-grade, actually, Yander. I thought it was a classic =) The last thing that I saw was Shrek, with Yander and Daenjel, and I must say that it was hilarious, and sweet and all that <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/biggrin.gif">------------------

And Shrek will never be in the B grade category <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif"> I loved that balloon twisting sequence sooo much! I don't think I've laughed so much in a movie for ages...And evenstar...any movie that is generally a send up of another movie, or has very obvious overacting is a B grade movie <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gif"> Hence Robin Hood Men in Tights qualifying. Though...that is a pretty good B movie...

I've seen the shorts for Jurrassic Park 3.. It looks potentially good. Then again, anything with what's-a-name (that guy, you know?) in it, has to be good. Not only because he's Australian, but look at his previous work, ie, Event Horizon, the scariest movie I've ever seen in my life.

Yeah, he's not bad..I think the scariest movie I've even seen is Steven King's 'It'. It was really disturbing...and I had nightmares about it for months after...

Well...if you count a series of three screenplays as a trilogy, then yes Michael Crichton did write a trilogy - all the Jurassic Park movies <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/tongue.gif">Oh, and I just have to mention another B movie - Scary Movie!It was soooooooo stoooooooopid!

Did Michael Crichton even actually write a trilogy?? I don't think so.I think that the scariest for me was "Messiah", which was actually a tv movie.. the killer was very attractive, and very intensely insane, as well as very intensely intelligent. It didn't actually show graphically all the details, but the way the killer actually killed his victims per the deaths of the disciples of Jesus Christ... <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/eek.gif"> freaky! Michael Crichton wrote two Jurassic Park Books, the first one, Jurassic Park, and then the Second One, The Lost World. The books were much different from the movies, the first one changes some of the characters around, and takes out some of the plot points. The second movie changes everything in the book around. Just about all of the characters are different, and there is a different story. Crichton started writing the second book at the same time as someone started writing the second script. Crichton shared some of the characters, and plot points from the second book, but most of it was changed in the second movie script. For example, No Tyrannosaur got onto the mainland in the book

Yes, I know that he wrote two books, I read them both <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/tongue.gif"> They were okay, but the topic of chaos theory was really tortuous, though. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/tongue.gif"> And yes, I know that he in fact wrote the screenplays for the films too, but nobody reads the screenplays except the filmmakers and the actors, and people like me who enjoy reading them <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/tongue.gif"> 
At least he was wise enough for the films, to not have Malcolm spout out a whole heap of crap that could be wrong or could be right, but most people wouldn't have a clue about cos they aren't mathematicians <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/tongue.gif">
