I don't think I'll be stopping Lovarian Adventures soon. And if I do (which I doubt), I won't leave the readers hanging. I'll probably just dish out the plot in essay form so that at least you guys know how it ends and stuff like that. But that is just a reassurance. I figure I might as well drop in and say hi myself.Stumbled on this comic when I was browsing through the Kingdoms of Keenspace a couple months back when I started my own little comic. (I called it 'Shallow' for reasons unknown really)I draw some inspiration out of your work (amongst other places), but my line work well, needs work <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gif"> It's also nice to see that you're using color now, makes a whole world of difference.Keep up the good work. Though perhaps when coloring you could add a third shade of color? Of course that would mean coloring would take that much longer, but you can get more depth with three shades than just two.Well cya around I guess. =)

The color is nice, and all, but I'd almost prefer two black and white comics a week, instead of one color. That's just me, though. I dunno what the other peoples think. I really liked the shading that you were doing in your later pictures... I kinda miss the old look... Also, with two comics, the story moves along faster, and I get to read more of it every week!Just my humble opinion.

Thanks for the compliments. My advice in your art is to practice and try to continually improve. As for doing comics, you better have the patience and the commitment. Jestana, greetings! A bit belated, but greetings anyway. Work sucks, and keeps me from visiting forums as often. Its good to see you're getting inspiration from our Lord and Master Geejay. You better break out the boots, that's pretty thick. <wg>I'd say in areas Geejay gave me ideas as well for a campaign i'm TRYING to get started. Assuming I can get that mystical 4th player that is! ((part of me says recruit here, but i'm ignoring that part))Its good to see how he took the the typical stereotypes of the Paladin, Thief, Mage, Fighter and Cleric and made them into unique and very interesting characters.We get inspiration from him, he gets inspiration from us, it all comes out in the laundry eventually.Its good to see more artists out there, after all, if you're not doing art you might be doing something unproductive like oh ... maybe uh ... watching Friends? <wg>Anyway, enjoy and hope to hear more from you in the future!

Getting inspiration from me? Wow. Yes I tried to stick with the stereotype character classes because that is easily the most recognizable thing in fantasy RPGs. When I was still the DM of my group, I always ask them to stick to be normal humans with typical character classes. Nobody objected anyway so I was lucky. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gif"> Uh-oh... I'm babbling already. Well, I don't want to argue the point about humans tending to be boring. Each one has his/her opinion there. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif">And although Lovarian Adventures is based on a D&D campaign setting I played and DMed back in college, the characters are no longer limited by the D&D rules. So Nadine doesn't have to be a Fighter or a Monk. Or she can be either. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif">That's the advantage in writing (and in this case, drawing) this story over playing it as a campaign. I don't have to be restricted by rules. If I say that's how it is in this world, that's how it is.Still, I miss playing. Even though I stopped playing I still bought the D&D 3rd Edition core books. Heh.------------------

- GURPS Companion IBlah. Humans tend to be boring. As do single-class characters. And it's fun to try and figure out how to get two or three classes work together (I figure Nadine has at least one Monk level - she kicks butt bare-handed too well not to, and that'd explain the apparent complete lack of armor. Oh yeah, and Monks actually *can* use shields. Weird but true.)...

Heh. Despite all the silliness plaguing 3rd Ed ("yes, go on and reload that heavy crossbow in about five seconds, no problem"), it's still *way* above the godforsaken 2nd ("longsword and broadsword use different proficencies!!"). And they finally got rid of most of the class-limit idocy.Actually, when I feel the need to think of LA in the terms of an RPG, I usually go for GURPS - thus far there hasn't been anything particularly "d&d" about it, and the conversion isn't as clumsy. And yes, it's possible for a tough enough guy to soak a direct fireball hit in that game too - but he's not going to exactly like it...

GURPS. I haven't personally played GURPS but it is very similar to FUDGE (an RPG that is created by a GURPS game designer). I've converted the whole campaign setting from D&D to FUDGE in the past. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif">------------------
