Yeah. That's why I had to have Nadine say that she did not actually sliced up Caz (the big guy). And also, that's why the sound effect was "WHAP!"

------------------

have you decided to keep your comic fairly censored? apart from the whole strangling and killing thing that is... but no gore etc?

Actually, I'm not yet decided on the censorship rating of this comic. What are the ratings anyway and what is allowed with those ratings? I want violence/gore to be an option, a bit of swearing (only if it's in character) and almost no nudity (too bad guys). Whatcha think?
------------------

Geejay, I think that LA would be rated PG-13 for American movies. I dunno about the Phillipenes, or Australia, though. Chibi-Alex-Chan has rated her comic Web-14. You can get most common web comics rating at http://www.livingingreytown.com/webrating.htm
I'd say yours would be somewhere in the Web-PG - "These comics may contain some mild offensive material, like swearing, mild violence or innuendoes."
to the Web-14 -
"Contains stronger offensive material. May contain swearing, violence, sexual themes, and sometimes nudity. Not suitable for children under 14."
If you want to play it safe, go for the 14 rating.

I didn't know there were any ratings associated with Web comics. Not any official ones anyway. Based on the US movie rating system and your message above, I'd say LA would be rated PG-13, with possible excursions into R territory. Depends on how violent and gory the "violence/gore option" is.
Even PG-13 movies can have a little nudity and not get bumped up. I am saing this only because you said LA would have "almost" no nudity. I have seen bare bottoms and even briefly shown topless females in PG-13 movies, but the emphasis is on the "brief" of course.

Ummm how about M Rated in Australian standards? Swearing only when necessary and a little gore.

I have the same reason as Chibialex for wanting to put up a rating. So that nobody can get back at me for having a violent comic or whatever. I can say, "hey, didn't I say this is a PG-14 comic?"
But if they still want to read it, I can't stop them.
------------------

I think think anyone payed attention the rating anyway. If peopel want to read it their goign to read it whereter it's rated M or G.
I only placed a rateing on my page because I know I lot of people had young childer reading my first story, and I didn't want them to get mad at me when I shift to a much more serios and complex story. Also I like to swear in the my new updates ^_^**
------------------

I'd rate your comic (As it has been to present anyway) about a PG to PG14 like you were saying. (I have a tendancy to be slightly lax on ratings, so when I tell other people, I always suggest slightly higher.)
Geejay, I think that so far you have done everything in your comic with incredible grace and tact. (Ie; you've stayed true to the characters... Um... from what I know of them anyway.... ) I'm glad to see that you don't intend to go more out of character than you have to. I don't have problems with violence, or anything. (Actually, my favorite characters are usually *very* violent) But I do have problems with excessive, *pointless* gore. There should always be points!
*Watches as people look at her funny*
Sorry. I'm just saying, I'd keep the rating fairly low, even if you have graphic violence and/or a little nudity, because, in my opinion, so long as it fits the story and characters, it doesn't make any difference, ne?
--Maureen

Hi again Maureen/Greek Amazon13.
Yeah, PG13+ might be enough. I'm not one who wants to be limited in what I do in the comic but I want relatively young people to be able to read my comic without their parents getting upset.
And yeah, I'm not going to include gore and nudity just for the sake of gore and nudity. If any of those is seen in the comic in the future, it is because I need to show them.
THanks for the feedback.

------------------

mmm - I used to draw lots of gore, at any rate when I was younger... now I've come to the opinion that the ability to draw a scene about gore without actually showing any is a sign of skill and professionalism.
but um, yeah - I like how you've been doing it so far Geejay! 8P
------------------

It wasn't my thing but it seems that I may need to do so sometime because there would be blood and carnage soon. Just kidding. It might still be in Chapter 4 before there will be some real fighting. And thanks for the compliment dude.

Well, you can't really tear a limb off someone with a meter-long, sharpened, all-steel baseball bat and expect *not* to have ye olde red liquid around the place, can you ?
Be glad Mendoran seems to have displaced (well, Helix was busy carrying him and Nadine didn't carry anything...) that nasty-ass two-handed morningstar he originally had. The wounds inflicted by a weapon like that are nothing short of "ugly", "horrible" and "messy"...
