@_@ Help! My poor peasant village is being ransacked by goblin raiders! If only the brave King Garthon and his army full of lots of well rendered soldiers with pikes and spears flags were here to save me! Oh, look over there! An army with lots of well rendered soldiers with pikes and spears and flags! I'm saved! Yea! ^_^ ::dances 'round his house, getting scratched by the rose bushes and falling down the well in the process:: Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! ::thud:: Yea!
I like it Geejay! I really do!
P.S. ~ a note from Uncle Geejay:

quote:
"Hell" is the name of the devil in this world... and his domain is also called Hell.

So remember children, for that last panel, Hell is both a 'what' and a 'he'.
[This message has been edited by Gillikin (edited 08-03-2001).]

Thanks to Chris the Gillikin for pointing out that problem in the third
to the last caption on the last panel. You see, in Lovaria, Hell is the name of
the devil as well as the name of his domain. Anyway, I've fixed the text now
so you shouldn't see the problem anymore. ^^
------------------

Okay. Keenspace autoupdater is not working again. So for those who really want to see the new page, I'm posting it here along with the artist's comments.
Artist Comments:

quote:

Whew! The toughest part here is drawing all the soldiers in that field! I hope
it turned out well. Just in case you are confused, this is more than a
thousand years back from the time of our current story. So what you are seeing
here is a sort of prologue.
And yes, those characters written on the flags mean something. I developed an
alphabet of my own back in high school (1988) so that I can write my own diary
and not be afraid that somebody might read it. When I was doing this page, I
thought that having flags with plain english words does not look very impressive.
So it's a good thing I have this alphabet handy and I used it here. ^^

I hope you guys like it. Sorry that the update didn't show up on the main page in time.
------------------

Welcome Sarah!
Don't worry too much about what is said on the flags. I'm telling you, they are not saying anything very important. It just says the name of the place where the army came from.
Lovania huh? Wow. That was pretty close. I don't know where I got the name Lovaria myself. I think I heard it a word that sounded like Lovaria somewhere and used it as the name of my D&D campaign setting setting a long time ago. And that setting is the same setting I'm now using in this comic. 2 decades later though.

------------------

Can anyone guess what it says on the flag? It'll be interesting to know what he wrote. And you know something scary, before I stumbled upon this comic, I had written my own story called Lovania two years ago. Scary thing is, it's set in the same time era as Lovaria with magic and such.
Creepy...

Hehehe. Not 2 decades of real time(tm). I'm talking about 2 decades of game time (or in this case, Lovarian time). I'm not that old yet.
This sort of prologue stuff will go on for an additional 1 to 3 pages depending on what I come up with tonight for tuesday's page.
After that, we go back to the present and see what Helix and the gang are doing.

------------------

I'm actually 26 now. From what Em was saying, we played 20 years ago. So that means I was only 6 years old then. Very unlikely. So if we are assuming I was 15 years old when I was playing and add 20 to that would make me very old.

35 is old? Not where I work.
"Happy ninty-fifth birthday, Mildred (or Dorothy or Florence or any other Nursing Home lady type name)" Is something you might hear rather often.
Or - "Today is our 74th wedding aniversary."
I've heard that before, too.
35 is old? Nah, double that and then we'll talk old.
