She cool because that freak with the long nails got his ass whooped by the cool guy. Because all the freak with the nails does is whimper whine about the people he's killed while the cocky protaganist decides to just punch the guy. I mean, that is just so damn cool, much better then a group of people who are happy happy lovey lovey with eachother from the beginning. Next all he needs to do is beat up the snot nosed girly one who is really a guy, because he needs it too.<P>Now you might think "Boy he hates Alices work" this is not the case, the mark of a good comic writer is making characters that people hate as well as like. I mean you know you've done a good job when the readers care enough to stir some sort of emotion towards them.

I still read your comic, though, I've just been a silent reader. <P>Another reason why you're cool - You do some of the best pencil work that I've ever seen, and to be able to do this not two, not three times, but every day a week (barring the occational problem) is amazing. What you can do in the time that you do it is dumbfounding. I can't really see how you do it, but you do.<P>Actualy, Alice, I really like Kuthra. I guess maybe I feel sorry for him. If you'd been treated like he had for all of his life, of course you're going to be morose and melancholy. haha so you think Kuthra deserved it, huh? Well he does dwell over his sadness a little too much, that's why he's so hard to get along with--although he usually doesn't talk so much about himself, I just needed to get that plot out of the way. ^^;;; heh he starts driving Sapheire crazy. I'm definately not into a group that's "happy happy lovey lovey" either, because it's more fun to write characters with opposing personalities. You'll probably approve of Saph's opinions of Wil, too, even if they don't get into a brawl (but i know of a part you'll probably like coming up). <P> hehe this is a good post, because it tells me that everything I've worked hard to set up about the characters is working. <P>I think the general thing I come across the most when I talk to people who read this comic is how different people latch on to different characters, and for different reasons. I'm not really trying to make anyone "hate" any specific characters, but it's always interesting to see which characters are understood by certain people and which are not. Of course, I wrote Saph to be a more likable character, although I've still run into people who think he's too rude to Vaela. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gif"> Obviously Kuthra and Wil are the hardest to understand, but it's interesting to see how certain readers still tell me how they understand how they feel. Eventually, I hope for everyone to at least tolerate all the characters as they begin to tolerate each other in the comic. Just like relationships in real life, they are people that you may grow to appreciate. <P>Alice

I sometimes just get into an art funk and I can't concentrate on drawing. Actually I worked for a really long time on the page today, and I still can't finish it because now I'm too tired. So much for every day. ^^;; (The new page will be up late though--I'll force myself to finish it in the morning.) <P>What I really can promise is that this comic will update often, if not daily. It will be daily for every day I am able to make it daily. But that's just not all the time. <P>I used to be able to draw the pages in about two hours. Now it takes me a lot longer. Do the pages look more complicated? I don't see that they do, but they still take longer. Alas, the curse of this house I live in...<P>I'm glad you like Kuthra. I like Kuthra too, mainly because I understand how and why he feels the way he does, but also because he is extremely loyal as a friend, which to me is one of the most important things in a relationship. That's what I mean--different readers understand different characters. I like that aspect of fms, because I get alot of different viewpoints. <P>Thanks for reading.<P>Alice ^_^

Yep, definitely something I can agree with! Alice is one of the best artists I've seen around the Internet. Her art has a realistic quality that you don't always get with other artists. Plus, the story itself is fantastic. And the characters are realistic, too. You could probably find any one of them wandering around on the street. hehehehhehehehehe This made me laugh: "You could probably find any one of them wandering around on the street." <P>They're all bums! <P>hehe just kidding, I know what you meant. ^_~ I hope they are realistic, since most of them are kind of based on me... ^^;;; I was re-reading the original version fms today and realized how blatently Alice-like Wilyri starts acting later on in the story. Kuthra does a specific "me" thing later too. ^_^;; <P>I'm glad the characters are loved. Kuthra has gotten quite a few more fans lately, I'm guessing because he's now a regular. heh heh.. Serena likes the "mysterious men" I see. ^_~ <P>Sapheire is an interesting character for sure. He really is a kind person when you get down to it, he just presents his kindness in somewhat of a rude manner, and he only does things his own way. I think he doesn't understand alot about people though, and when he tries too hard to make sense of them he just ends up getting annoyed. He also tends to think everyone should think the same way he does--as if it's common sense. There's always room for growth in a character!<P>I'm glad the story is being enjoyed. Thanks for putting some light in my dark days. ^_^<P>Alice
