hmm non-anime, huh. I used to like Dexter and Powerpuff girls but now I'm sick of them. hmm. I'll have to say the original Batman the Animated series, because it was dark and sexay. XD hehe I also liked a bunch of eighties cartoons because they were my favorite shows growing up, like She-ra and He-man, Thundercats and such. I like girly stuff though, so I'll be perfectly honest, I loved Rainbow Brite, the Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Lady Lovelylocks, and the My Little Pony and Friends show. hehe
I never really got into Loony toons. I don't really like Warner Bros. in general (batman doesn't count--I'm talking about classic WB characters). I don't like Hanna Barbara either. I don't like disney too much either. I guess I just don't like any of those talking animal chase things. They just aren't that fun to me. :/
Alice

Hey, saw this on another forum thought it was interesting, decided to try it here. So that said, what are your favorite cartoons (not anime). My list is Freakazoid, The Tick, Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo (sometimes), pretty much any looney tunes (daffy duck's the best). All the old stuff, like transformers, He-man (yes at one point I did like that show, and used to have quite a few action figures for it to, that tiger was quite cool). Hmmmm.....what else, ummmmm......well thats all I can remember for now, I'll just add stuff here as I think of it
------------------

I read the topic and just had to post. I was one of those girly fans too. I have this huge collection of My Little Ponies in our storage shed. Lemme see, mostly I just watch anime nowadays, but I love Grim and Evil. Although I can't seem to find any grim graphics around. I want to make a webpage with him as the host, teehee. Mostly whatever I catch on cartoon network is what I watch. I'm 19 and I'm still a cartoon nut. hehehe, later.
Jennet

Yay! My little ponies! XD XD XD
You know, I've still never actually watched Grim and Evil. I've been avoiding the Cartoon Network like the plague because, a few months ago, it was all that was ever on the tv. Not that I was watching it, but someone else in the house always was, and I got soooo bored of it. So I'm waiting for that to cool off, then I'll be back watching it again I'm sure. XD
Alice

I was never into my little ponies or rainbow brite, (though my sister was.....ugh......), my sis. watched all those other shows as well, (and collect various figurines and such.........bleh, better than barbie I suppose, grim and evil is pretty funny, I forgot to mention one of my new favs. Sealab 2021, that show is one of the funniest (sp?) cartoons I've seen in a while. Nothing wrong with being a cartoon nut, better than watching some of the other crappy stuff they show on tv these days (offense intended for those people who choose to watch crappy stuff, you know who you are : P)
------------------

Lol, cartoon network is this household's fav channel. I have 2 bros, 16 and 22 and we're all the cartoon people. Sealab 2021 is pretty good. Hehehe, omg, someone mentioned cowboy bebop. I had the funniest scene in my head New Years Eve. Jean (outlaw star) and Jet (cowboy bebop) sitting there when Jean All the sudden perks up and goes "I know lets get drunk tonight and watch the parades tomorrow with a hangover!" And in the next scene you see them with wine glasses and those goofy party hats. lol, shows how my mind works... Scary. You should've seen the look on mom's face when I all of the sudden pictured this while eating and started choking on my food, lmao. Anyways, now that I've shared that useless little story, I'm gonna go. Later!
Jennet

I can't decide what my favorite cartoon series is, but I'm pretty sure my favorite cartoon movie of all time-even more favored than anime-is The Last Unicorn. I've looked for the soundtrack to it for years and finally this week I found the import CD on Amazon and a website that had the whole thing in mp3 form. I'm such a happy geek.
If only I could find my video ;_;
I'm going to go watch the original version of Bladrunner instead.

ohhoho! I forgot about those, Sealab 2021 IS hillarious. My roommate and I used to always watch that and space ghost before Cowboy Bebop. Now those shows, I'll never get sick of watching. ^_^ That one old guy on Sealab.. haha he cracks me up...
Heh, for the most part I don't watch TV at all though. hehe That is a weird scene! hehe I would probably get it better if I'd actually watched Outlaw Star though. At the time it was on Toonami, I didn't have cable. ;;_;; Oh well, most people tell me it was good, but not great. Cowboy Bebob is awesome though! hehe You sound a little like me, I'm always just spontaneously thinking about some little story or something while I'm doing something. People always think I'm always zoned out, but well, this comic's entire plot structure came from a few days' worth of "zoning out" hehe.
I love The Last Unicorn too! I watched it when I was a little kid and I loved it. (of course I loved unicorns in general) but that really is a beautiful film. It used to make me sad when I was little though. ;_; I have it on tape somewhere too. hehe I remember that soundtrack too, though, by America, right? hehe I scare myself that I actually remember this, I haven't sat down and watched the movie for quite a few years. ^^;;; I also liked one called Flight of Dragons, which reminded me of The Last Unicorn.
Alice

I found my video! I'm gonna watch it!
The only things I can remember about my childhood are things I read in books and saw in movies. Wait, that's all I remember now, too. You should read the book, it's very good and not very long so just about anybody can fit it into their schedual.

lol, my only problem with zoning out is I can't put the pictures in my mind out on paper. You're really good at it. I have this whole "haunted circus" comic swirling in my head. It's a real pain when you can picture the characters, but can't get them out on paper. That comic has been stuck in my mind since halloween. I can write but I can't draw worth a flip. Mostly because I have no patience for drawing. Writing comes naturally to me, so it's nothing to sit down and write 5 chapters of a novel. *shrugs* I guess you can't have it all, eh? Later!
Jennet

Whoo hoo! Hey, there's a The Last Unicorn novel? I didn't know it came from a book (although it makes since, most movies do... ^^;; ...) Short is good, I've been trying so hard to get back into a schedule where I have time to read, and I haven't been able to do it yet. I miss reading! ;;_;;
haunted circus? O.O That would probably scare me. ^^;;;; If I were you, I'd just try to adapt the comic into a novel, since you're a good writer. Actually this comic is kind of like that, but backwards. It was originally an idea for a novel, but I started drawing the characters in manga style, and it became a comic. It shouldn't be too hard to make your comic into a novel I wouldn't think. And if you do feel the need for drawings later on, you can do some illustrations!
Alice

lol, I'm sure my haunted circus will be creepy as well. The first comic (or chapter) will be all about the *dead* members and how they came to be. The cast starts off with a ring master who owns the first circus. He's dying (dunno of what yet, it'll probably end up heart problems) and his wife walks in to find him at an open window and he looks at her and goes "the show must go on" and jumps. His will states that his body is to be buried at the bottom of the ferris wheel. Then we meet the clowns, those creepy poodle ladies (and their poodles), the lion tamer (and his pets), ect, ect. It should be good... now if only it had a plot... lmfao. That's one reason it wouldn't be a good novel. Mostly the story is based around these kids that break into the rundown park a few years later and all "disappear/are killed", except one. Then it's mostly just a tale about the spirits stalking him whenever he visits.
It's a humorous/gory/pointless/fun story. lol, I'd love to get it down on paper. *goes to do that* hehehe, later!
Jennet

hey, next time i'm on ICQ I'll look you up then! (I haven't had much time to spend online lately ^^;;; Although I probably can't download stuff until we get our LAN set up.
It seems like it's been forever since I've been able to sit down and read. The last reading I really did was when I read the Harry Potter books and that was over a year ago. ^^;; It does make me rather sad. hmm... audio novels is a good idea.... ^_^; I don't even spend much time on the internet, it's all videogames and socializing lately, and luckily, I've had time to do the comic daily too. *phew*
I just rewatched Moulin Rouge and it made me imagine your ring master like the guy who owns the Moulin Rouge (because he sings that "The Show must go on" song ^^;;; ...) It sounds totally creepy though. That's a good thing though, I like creepy. I'm also imagining a cast sort of like The Nightmare before Christmas, only a circus. XD Yeah, I guess if it's just alot of different stories, it's hard to make into a novel. You could always write short stories about them though. I wish you luck with this!
Alice ^^

I used to get so much more reading done when I was in school, because I could read during lecture classes. *sigh* That's why, instead of re-reading the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, I'm going to listen to the BBCs radio production of them while I catch up on painting all the miniatures that I'm supposed to have done for my roleplaying group. I think it's genius. Now if only I'd get off the internet.
There is a game with a haunted circus. The most recent gauntlet game, for PS2. That was my favorite level. It creeped the hell out of me.

Moulin Rouge is definately worth seeing, at least in my opinion. It's one of my favorite movies of last year. Of course, I'm a huge fan of musicals, and this movie reminds me so much of broadway that I love it. ^_^;;;
Wow, you'd actually pay for this comic?? I'm surprised! Actually I've thought about trying to sell it, but I have no real way of producing it right now. I know I can get people to produce it for me but I haven't really looked into it yet. But I've kept it in mind for the future.
Alice
