You absolutely have to read this. It's one of the best thing's that I've read since the terrorist attack.
http://lumthemad.net/story.php?story=2298
Oh, and very nice sympathy picture, Alice. It fit the situation very nicely.

(this is Alice. For some reason my other messageboard account stopped working. Hopefully I'll get to the bottom of this, but until then, I'll be using this name)
It seemed terrible to just go on with the comic like normal, when our world is so far from "normal" right now. I can hardly even think right now. I will be continuing the comic soon though, because I can't accomplish anything by sitting on my couch and watching the news and being miserable. We have to just do what we can, and keep going on.
I very much enjoyed the post you linked, Gillikin. I find it a little sad that it takes such terrible tragedy to bring America together so, but it also proves how strong the country is within.

I completly understand. I've got two friends missing, and where-ever I walk down the street there are american flags strung everywhere, and I've been wearing army // blue-red-white clothing ever since this happened..
There's someone out there with an idea, her name is Casey.. Here's what she said:
"If you're interested you can check out the project that Wonton and I have started to send gifts to the victims of Manhattan....we'll have more info soon, right now we just have a mailing list:
http://projectsmile-ny.unixdaemons.com/ "
Yesterday I stood outside at 7:00 lighting a candle, and staring out at the sky. I can hear all the planes and jets where I live, and it pretty much scares me to death.

Yesterday my college had a ceremony. All classes after twelve were dropped because of it, even though the ceremony didn't start until 1. Around 12:45, sitting on the floor of one of my friend's rooms looking at Inu-yasha trading cards, there's a roar and a plane flies overhead.
Everyone in the room (save me, I'm slow on the uptake sometimes), freezes, staring upwards. It's the first plane we've heard since tuesday.
I looked at the others with this weird, torn feeling- so it's come to this?
Our college had boxes out this morning, one for the pentagon, one for New York, one for Pennsylvania. You could write notes of encouragement to the people helping out. I'm so glad I could do that... I live in Tacoma, Washtington so I feel so far away there's so little I can do to help! But I'm glad I could do something.
I hope that was kind of coherant.
Lina Inverse

Some other comic artists did the same thing with there own comics, putting up a tribute page in honor of the lives that were lost. Here's some lists of those comics, in case anyone is interested.
http://bathroom.keenspace.com/tragedy.html http://dtl.keenspace.com/tribute.html
FMS is on the first one, I might add.

-I'm so tired of being depressed and I know that it's really just starting. Ah, well, I guess that's just how it goes, sadly. I hate war.... -
I'm hoping we'll come out of this playing it smart because if we don't...
See, I don't *want* to go into politics. But I will if I have to! War.... If I start talking about my feelings about war it'll involve too many capitalized words and a broken keyboard. So I won't go there.
-I messed up on today's page, it was supposed to be "interlude one" not "intermission" .... ^^;;;;;; don't know when i'll ever get around to fixing that, heh... I probably just did it because there's an "intermission" in my demo reel and that's kind of what's on my mind right now. ^^;;; -
Teehee. I started doing intermissiony things in my manga when I got bored and had random ideas, but I didn't do one between chapter 1 and 2 so I feel kinda awkward about it. That's one of the problems of posting stuff immediately, neh? Sometime I realize I've gone and italicized three pages of stuff on accident. ^ - ^;; Woops...
-I graduate from the hideous AIP tomorrow... arrgh, I should be excited, but I'm just dreading having to get up early. ^^;;;-
Yay graduaty goodness! I have to get up semi-early, but that's to go see an Evangelion marathon with the Anime club. I've never seen Eva before so I'm told it'll warp my mind a bit.
A bit more, anyways. ^ - ^
-I still don't know how to get to the graduation hall, either.-
Heh. I drove myself, capped and gowned, to my high school graduation. There's just something funny about driving around in full dress regalia. Did it for both proms, too.
(I'm not a dateless wonder...I'm not...I swear.... ^ - ^;
-and my gown is all wrinkled-
We had one girl those gown was only about four feet long. Yeep!
Lina Inverse

<'s are usually used to mean "this is in another language and you know it and I know it but in order for you to actually understand what's going on we're going to say it in your language, and isn't what convenient?"
There's also a * in the first word bubble with a little thingy under the top box that says "translated from the old tongue"

though I don't wish to rain on anyones parade haveing artistic talent no mater how good does not garutee a job. this regretable truth has led to a rather common occurance of the starving artist. but I do hope you get a good job alice. with a big pay check and plenty of time to do as you like.

Just wanted to pop in and say that I hope that you had a good graduation, and the project that you were working on went well. Enjoy your freedom from college! Of course, now that means that you'll have to find a job. ~_~ Oh well, you'll do fine, I know that you will. With your talent for art, they'd have to be crazy not to want to hire you.

Hooo... Sorry, sorry, I had to take unsceduled time off of FMS. I was supposed to move into my new apartment on Sunday so I was going to work on FMS on Saturday.. But we ended up moving on Saturday, and I've been spending the last few days getting settled (finally set up my computer, yay!!) But there should be a new page for tomorrow and I'm going to go back to.... *silence* daily updates! whee!
I started reading your manga, Lina, it's really funny! It was reminding me of Rune Explorers for some reason, and I really love Rune Explorers. I'll be reading the rest of what you have up soon, then I'll give you my full opinion. ^_^
Evangelion is great, although I hope you got to see the movies, too, it's absolutely vital that you see the movies!
I drove myself (and my dates) to prom too, in Cinderella-esque garb. hehe If you want to get the idea of what kind of girl I am, I also invited both of my dates myself. ^_~
hee hee.. I've actually been having a really interesting weekend. I might even not be *shock* single anymore! (Alice is always single, she doesn't care much for the outside world) O.O God, I might even actually have a LIFE after this... hmm... heh, probably not.
Yep, Lina's right about the < >. Dragoness must've never read american comics, I took it straight from them. ^_~ Actually, I wouldn't be "conveniently" showing you guys what Gairein and K'sher are saying normally, its only because that's Kuthra's point of view I'm showing, and Kuthra is basically the linguist of the group. If that was Sapheire/Vaela/Wil in there, you'd be seeing some weird symbols.

I feel bad though, I've been neglecting it and the last one I put up was heavily Eva-influenced in tone and not nearly so light... Fortunately a new char makes his first appearence in the next one and it'll be sheer insanity for quite a while. Yay!
-Evangelion is great, although I hope you got to see the movies, too, it's absolutely vital that you see the movies! -
I saw a movie- was that it? And I want to go to the prom - wearing... :: drum roll :: flared pants and an otaku shirt ^_____^!! Hee.. You'll never catch me in a dress, unless its manditory X_x
[This message has been edited by ~Dragoness~ (edited 09-27-2001).]

hahahahhahahahha! *dies laughing* I definately don't have a life yet! XD And living with five people, even though they're friends, isn't really all that fun, especially when you don't have DSL or a cable modem and they all want the phone lines open! And I haven't gotten anything accomplished lately either, not even FMS pages, because I'm so lazy and unmotivated to do anything but sit and play playstation (after I sleep in till 3 pm that is). So I definately don't have a life as of yet. I'll be getting a job soon though...
So it seems so far that a life doesn't kill comics, because not having a life is making me unmotivated to draw! ;;;_;;; I'll work on that next week though, I'm going home, and I'll have alot less distractions while I'm there. It WILL go back to daily. I just have to get in the mind frame again.
Alice^^
