Thanks Mike for your feedback.
I used to be very minimalist (also read as lazy) and put in an image purely so I could call it a cartoon.
I've since discovered people look at the art as much as the writing - and the good thing is "I" now see the art as very important when in the past I would just say "the gag's funny when you read it, who cares if the arts poor".
A couple weeks back I quickly drew up 3 gags that were never going to be anywhere but on a web-site (egg sex, Mary had a lamb, cat slippers). I compare these drawings to my first month of work where I put alot of effort into the art and there is no comparison. I'm even going to go back and pull out of the archives 2 drawings I put in that were neither particularly funny or drawn well. I think I put them in only to keep the whole Mon, Wed, Fri thing happening.
BTW today after I write this I'll mail off 15 cartoons to the New Breed and see how they go. I really want them to sell coz I want a new TV (Speed where are you?). I've spent the last week re-drawing some old gags and putting in some new. If they get rejected I'll be putting them on this site - which is good as I've been putting too much old stuff here lately. So lets hope I get back to the same quality of the first month.
Thanks for still hanging around. Toontalk has been very busy. Darn that CE forum for closing. I was hoping to do my end of the month critique on Telly.
Jeff
