I didn't notice this selection on the poll, so I thought I'd throw it out here. The reason I read Viscious Lies is for the writing. It's got some of the better writing out there in strip-land, that manages to transcend any visual representation with it's own character.
It's easy to tell you have a background in prose. There's not many strips out there than can hold up just as text and still convey convincing characterizations. Most people will just fall back on goofy faces.
I've been reading for a while, and I'm glad things seem to be in an upswing again (update-schedule-wise). I started losing far too many of my regular reads this year.
