Pretty soon we're putting that big 50" projection TV up in the attic, so maybe that could be your big screen experience. Gotta buy a DVD player for the attic, though. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to have the Star Wars trilogy actually out on DVD, though I suspect that won't happen till this Christmas. (I have a very strong feeling this is the year they'll come out.)
Lummox JR
------------------

At last, one of the movies I've waited for this year is opening, and all the reviews say it's not only great, but better than the original--a rarity for any sequel.
Yes, I'm talking about The Mummy Returns. Tonight I'll be going to see that, and I'm very excited. I got to wondering... what movies has everyone else been waiting for this year?
I'm still dying to see Tomb Raider (June 15) and Fellowship of the Ring (Christmas), but those will have to wait. I've been hoping to see Lord of the Rings as a movie for years, so I'm really revved up about that. But first, I'll pay the ludicrous admission fee to see the busty bride of Billy Bob play the intrepid Lara Croft.
Among other recent releases, I hear mixed reviews about A Knight's Tale; sounds like it'll be right up my alley, but not everyone will feel the same about it. I'd like to see it.
How about everyone else?
Lummox JR
------------------

Whoa whoa! Is the Mummy Returns already out! That's the best news I've heard all month! Wait. It's only the fourth. OK, all week, then!
I loved the first one. Brendan Fraser can be OK or really dumb (but in a sweet way, so I always see his flicks anyway) but for some reason he just really shone in The Mummy, and the rest of the cast was also quite good. The Mummy himself was excellent.
That's good news, man.
------------------

I regret to say (and I really honestly do mean regret) that I probably only get to two or three movies a year since leaving Syracuse. For a while, we had a dollar theatre showing second-run movies, and I saw maybe ten a month for two months, but that was back in the days of Mulan (my favorite Disney flick).
I have very, VERY rarely been actually angry with Ann, and the joy she brings me by FAR outweighs the negatives... however, I do still get a little tense each time I remember her cancelling our plans to see the remastered Return of the Jedi (which I have still not seen, and will not until I can view it on a whomping big widescreen).
Of all the things I seemed to leave behind when I left highschool, watching movies in a theatre is what I miss the most. No -- wait -- getting decent theatre roles and getting together with family. But movies are third.
--Strange/Dave
------------------

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! I loved The Mummy Returns! Even the closing credits were a work of art!
SS, I feel your pain. My wife and I are both movie nuts -- we used to live two blocks from the local second-run dollar cinema and went to the movies about twice a week for the first five years of our marriage. Just right up until July 8, 1994.
Parenthood has its advantages. *snif* But I miss my movies!
------------------
